Review of Last Sunday
Moses the Man/ The GOAT
Deuteronomy 34:10–12 “And there has not arisen a prophet since in Israel like Moses, whom the Lord knew face to face, none like him for all the signs and the wonders that the Lord sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and to all his servants and to all his land, and for all the mighty power and all the great deeds of terror that Moses did in the sight of all Israel.”
Numbers 12:6–8 “And he said, “Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the Lord make myself known to him in a vision; I speak with him in a dream. Not so with my servant Moses. He is faithful in all my house. With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in riddles, and he beholds the form of the Lord. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?””

Joshua 1:1–9
King James Version Chapter 1

NOW after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ minister, saying, 2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. 4 From the wilderness and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun, shall be your coast. 5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 6 Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. 7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in a mirror. For he looks at himself and goes away and at once forgets what he was like. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.”
Isaiah 26:3 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.”

Reflection Questions
Is there a "Jordan River" in your life that God has called you to cross, but fear or comfort has kept you from Crossing?
Are you spending more time meditating on the voices of the world or on the Word of God?
When discouragement comes, where do you turn first—God's promises or your own feelings?
God reminded Joshua of His past faithfulness. Are you remembering what God has already done in your life, or have you forgotten His past victories?
Is there an area where you have drifted "to the right or to the left" instead of walking in simple obedience to God's Word?
If someone observed your life this week, would they describe you as strong and courageous because you trust God, or fearful because you trust yourself?
Joshua wasn't perfect—he doubted, became discouraged, and made mistakes—yet God still used him. Have you allowed your failures to convince you that God can't use you?
Are you merely reading God's Word, or are you putting it into practice? What is one truth from Scripture you need to obey this week?
Invitation Questions- As the musicians come and every head is bowed, ask yourself:
What is the one step of obedience God is calling me to take today?
What fear do I need to surrender to the Lord?
What promise of God do I need to believe instead of doubting?
Am I pursuing the inheritance God has for me, or have I become comfortable wandering in the wilderness?
If today God said, "Arise, go over this Jordan," would I respond immediately, or would I make excuses?
