Faith & Endurance
Faith & Endurance
The Purpose of Pain: Trials are not meaningless; they test your faith to produce steadfastness.
The Growth Process: Steadfastness must finish its work so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
The Source of Wisdom: If you lack the wisdom to understand your trial, ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach.
The Danger of Doubt: You must ask in faith without doubting, or you become like a wave of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind.
God’s Nature: God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one.
The Root of Sin: Temptation begins when a person is lured and enticed by their own desire.
The Cycle of Death: Desire gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully grown, brings forth death.
The Source of Goodness: Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from the Father of lights, who never changes.
The Posture of a Disciple: Be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger.
The Mirror Analogy: Anyone who hears the word but does not do it is like a man who looks in a mirror, goes away, and immediately forgets what he looks like.
The Blessing of Obedience: The one who looks into the perfect law of liberty and perseveres will be blessed in what they do.
True Religion: Pure and undefiled religion before God is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
