Vision

You all have spent the past few weeks growing in so many different aspects of leadership and so many aspects of your faith. Today, we are going to grow in one of my favorite aspects of leadership… stewarding vision.
What do I mean by this?
Habakkuk 2:2–3 “The Lord answered me: Write down this vision; clearly inscribe it on tablets so one may easily read it. For the vision is yet for the appointed time; it testifies about the end and will not lie. Though it delays, wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late.”
God often gives vision of and for the things to come to people that are his representatives. Going into this new season of youth, we have nearly an entirely new youth team. With that, God has given each of us vision for the direction of Youth as representatives for him. But we aren’t the only ones. You all are representatives for God and for your generation.
I believe he has given you discernment to see things that are going on in your generation and the direction he is planning to take you all. And as your Youth leaders we are here to help you all steward this well.
Really quickly I want to give you a few things that will help you to identify ways God may be revealing vision to you and what to do from there:
Awareness of Problems
Sometimes it sounds like “Man I really wish we had more of ________” or “Why do we do things like that?”
Sometimes that may look like “I’ve been really struggling in this area and there’s something missing that would help solve it”
Pray about it
We have to ask God to help us to discern what to do with it.
“Is this a step I just need to take personally to grow in or is God giving me vision for what he wants to use me to do?”
Do Something About It
Be involved in the change you want to see.
If you aren’t consistent and passionate about it, you can’t expect anybody else to be. You can’t just talk about it you have to be about it.
