Worship is cyclical. God responds when we worship Him. We worship Him as response to what He has done and is doing.
Worship shouldn’t be contrived, and shouldn’t have to be worked up. Worship should come as we contemplate who God is and how is working in our lives.
When Noah stepped foot on dry ground, no one had to tell Him how he made it through the last year.... He knew it was a God thing so

Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Noah worshipped In response to God
At an altar (first time an altar is mentioned in the Bible)
With extravagant sacrifice (some of ALL the clean animals)
It would have been clear why God wanted him to load 7 pairs of clean (acceptable for sacrifice) animals.
Has God done anything for you? Are you responding to all He has done properly?
Don’t be afraid to worship him extravagantly!

When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, He said to Himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of man, even though man’s inclination is evil from his youth. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done.
As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, and day and night
will not cease.”
God responded to Noah’s worship attitude.
He did not respond to something new he saw in mankind.
Noah’s worship caused God to make a pledge for mankind.
A negative pledge- no more universal flood
A positive pledge- days, seasons will not stop until the world does.
God Covenanted
God Covenanted
Then God said to Noah and his sons with him,
“Understand that I am confirming My covenant with you and your descendants after you,
and with every living creature that is with you—birds, livestock, and all wildlife of the earth that are with you—all the animals of the earth that came out of the ark.
I confirm My covenant with you that never again will every creature be wiped out by the waters of a flood; there will never again be a flood to destroy the earth.”
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between Me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all future generations:
I have placed My bow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.
Whenever I form clouds over the earth and the bow appears in the clouds,
I will remember My covenant between Me and you and all the living creatures: water will never again become a flood to destroy every creature.
The bow will be in the clouds, and I will look at it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all the living creatures on earth.”
God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have confirmed between Me and every creature on earth.”
Covenant is a rich word.
It can mean agreement, treaty, make allies, be in league with, make a pact, banquet together.
It is the bringing of two parties together. God and Noah, and by extension, God and man.
The Covenant is 8-11
The Sign of the Covenant is 12-17
Covenant becomes an important word throughout the Bible.
God makes a Covenant with Abraham , with the Nation of Israel, and eventually, the NEW COVENANT through the blood of Jesus, where He promises to fellowship with and offer eternal life to all who would place their faith in Jesus.
