Exodus 2:21-22

Big Idea: When life feels like exile, God is still quietly preparing His servant, providing His people, and pointing us to the greater Deliverer.

I. A Place to Stay

Moses settles down in Midian; what looked like a detour was God’s provision.

Rejection in Egypt did not cancel God’s plan.

Sometimes God’s next step starts with a difficult stop.

The Lord works in ordinary places, not just dramatic moments.

Bridge: Don’t despise the season where God is teaching you to wait.

II. A Wife to Give

Reuel gives Zipporah to Moses; this is grace, not entitlement.

God can supply companionship in a lonely land.

Family, marriage, and provision are still under God’s hand.

What feels random is often arranged by providence.

Bridge: God cares about the burdens of real life, not just big religious moments.

III. A Name to Carry

Gershom means “stranger there”; Moses knew he did not belong.

Even after rescue, the heart still feels the pain of being displaced

Earthly places cannot fully satisfy a soul made for God.

Moses’ own story prepares us to look for a better Deliverer.
