Introduction:

PreK Review - Friends, last night we learned that we should be like Jesus in how He obeyed.

K5&1st Review - Friends, we learned last night that when Jesus came to earth He lived a perfect life, died upon the cross, and rose from the dead.

2nd&3rd Review - Friends, last night we considered that we all need Jesus to forgive us of our sins.

4&5th Review - Last night friends, we reflected on the fact that though Jesus is God, He still experienced all the things that babies, children and adults do! Yet, Jesus had to be Totally God, Totally Man to save the world according to God’s plan.

Friends, our second song that we’re going to learn is called Bright. We’ll be learning this song to sing on Sunday morning with the NBBC family and friends.

Friends, this song reminds us in the first and second verses that there’s something that we should be thinking about.

It’s about Jesus.

His death (v. 1).

His resurrection (v. 1).

His goodness (v. 2).

His grace (v. 2).

And, friends, our song suggests that this is something that we can think about more than just when we’re at VBS or church.

You can think about these things when you’re at home.

You can think about these things when you’re in the car.

You can think about these things when you’re waiting in line at the store with your parents.

There’s a verse in God’s Word that reminds us that we can think about these things anytime - Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.”

And, friends, when we think about these things, what will be our response?

There are two responses.

We’ll look at the first one tonight.

Then, you’ll have to come back later in the week to learn the next one.

Friends, our first response is constant, thankful praise.

Notice the words that are used after thinking about Jesus’ sacrifice, resurrection, goodness, and grace.

“Speechless”

“Amazed”

“Always give You praise”

“Forever I will say”

Friends, on account of the greatness what Jesus did so that we can be forgiven of our sins and live with Him forever, there’s never a time that we shouldn’t be praising Him! (Colossians 1:12–14 “giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”)

Conclusion: Friends, think about and always praise Jesus for His sacrifice, resurrection, goodness, and grace.
