Baby Dedication
Baby Dedication
We get the idea of Baby Dedication from 1 Sam. 1:27-28
Hannah Samuel’s mom prayed this…
I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.
So now I give him to the Lord. For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord.” And he worshiped the Lord there.
How can a child be given over to the Lord without being instructed by their parents and being raised in the House of God?
This is why scripture is full of instructions to Parents. Prov. 22:6 summerizes it well…
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.
There is no better combitation that Godly parents and a healthy church that gives a child the best chance to know Jesus. They will be raised up… they will make thier own decisions, we MUST do our part as Parents.
So…
What is Baby dedication?
What is Baby dedication?
It’s a public declaration of parents & family that say’ “With the help of God... we will live out the Gospel before their child”
What does this mean?
It means our child will see us... be devoted to...
The apostles' teaching by faithfully attending Church.
To fellowship with the believers in my community.
We will be devoted to prayer because we depend on God and recognize him as our source for everything.
Will one of you introduce us to your family who is with you today …
