Your Kingdom come

Scripture :

Matthew 6:10 NIV84

your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

Purpose:

As we explore the instructions of Jesus about praying there is many insights that we can learn from His model prayer and in this section of the prayer Jesus points us the the importance of God will and it relationship to His kingdom. There seems to be a connecting point between the Kingdom of God and God’s will. These two thought are inseparable. For included in the Kingdom is the will of God.. Everything about His kingdom is founded on his will. His plan of salvation, his desire for a relationship with us and the kingdom that comes from this is the foundational pillars of the Kingdom of God. There is no Kingdom of God if that kingdom is built on anything less that God will. so what dose it mean to pray God your will be done? I is mean we are completely surrendering to God and his wisdom and sovereignty in all things. Jesus before the arrest of Jesus, while he was in the garden praying, his prayer was your will be done. At this moment Jesus was facing a cup of suffering and his prayer was Father let this not happen, however your will be done.

Matthew 26:39 ICB:VCCRU

Then Jesus walked a little farther away from them. He fell to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, do not give me this cup of suffering. But do what you want, not what I want.”

When we pray our prayer must be more about God’s will for his kingdom and his will for us than our will and what we think is best for us. In a spirit of humility we surrender totally to God’s will. That is often a very hard thing to do, because God will may not take us down the easiest path but it will always be the surest and the most direct way to the Father. A cup of suffering is not easy nor is a cup of deep valley are the hard to travel, yet we must ask God’s will or my will be done.

Dear Father take every part of my life and allow me to be surrounded by your will. May my paths and decisions lead me toward you. Within you Kingdom and you will I desire to live. My will must give way to your will daily! Lord you will be done on earth as it is in heaven, I desire nothing less than you will be done.

How would you spend the money? Will there be a balance between what the family member need and what you need? Who would get the most you? our will is often about us did you know God will is very often about what he wants for you? He gave his only son for you and other. However he did this so you might know Him.
