In this telling of the landowner’s parable, we focus on the attitudes of everyone involved. From the intent and disposition of the landowner to the feelings and self-worth of the people the landowner hired. We should place ourselves in the shoes of each of them and ponder what we may have thought or done. Then we should compare our sentiments with what Jesus is trying to teach us in this moment. How God would have us feel about our work, our wages, and the generosity that doesn’t make sense in man’s eyes. Matthew 20:1–16; Luke 19:9–10; Romans 3:10–20; Acts 9:1–8; Matthew 7:21–23; Ephesians 2:1–10; Psalms 51; Galatians 5:13–26
