Mother’s Day

Mother’s stand up and name their children. Open in prayer for the children named.

Prayer before Jesus

God instructed Moses how to set up the tabernacle.
There was a wall around it. Inside the area was the Brazen alter and slaughter tables. Then in the temple there was an outer veil, Holy place
Holy place had a lampstand, showbread table, alter of incense. the inner veil. Holy of holies. Ark of the covenant.
Temple of Solomon
When Jesus was crucified the veil tore from top to bottom.
It was symbolic that through Jesus, we have access to God.

Jesus taught us how to pray.

Matthew 6:
Matthew 6:9–13 NASB95
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

Our Father who is in heaven

Personal, relational, submissive.

Hallowed be your name.

Not buttering up God.
“ole buddy ole pal”
Acknowledging who God is.

Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.

God has given us free will. This is us bending our will to his will.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Asking God for his provisions. Bringing out righteous desires to God.
Daily!

And forgive us our debts as we also forgive our debtors

Next weeks sermon.
acknowledging our sin before a Holy God and asking his forgiveness.

And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Acknowledging that the desire of our heart is not to sin, but to do right.
In the same way we are admitting that without the help of the holy spirit, we will give in to evil.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

This is a conclusion that we acknowledge again that it is Gods kingdom we desire, His Power that submit to, and his glory, not ours that we seek.

In Jesus’ name.

John 14:6 NASB95
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.
Ephesians 3:12 NASB95
in whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.
Hebrews 4:14–16 NASB95
Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
