What is the most important thing about Christianity?

Acts 2:23–24 Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that He should be held by it.

Resurrection is important to Christian theology.

1 Corinthians 15:3–4 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

How do you become a Christian?

You have to be on Jesus!

John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name.

Specifically the Gospel (Resurrection) of Jesus Christ.

Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

If you want to be right before God, you need the resurrection.

Romans 4:25 who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification.

You may say that Resurrection is important.

Our best holiday is based on Jesus resurrection. Our hope is resurrection.

So let’s talk about resurrection before Christ!

BECAUSE We always say that people before in the Old Testament are saved the same way we are, so how does resurrection fit into all that.

The Problem - Death

Genesis 2:16–17 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

DIE - First time the word is used. It comes for those who don’t obey the voice of God.

The Lie - Death and the Day

Genesis 3:4–5 Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The Curse - Death

Genesis 3:19 “In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return.”

Here is my question - What about God saying that in the day you eat of it you will surely die?

Adam lived a long time.

Genesis 5:5 So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; and he died.

Death is separation from God.

Revelation 21:8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.

Some say that day was a thousand years.

2 Peter 3:8 But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

This is an interesting Dispensation theory. I will tell it to you!

Man created on 6th day 6,000 years are the time of man

Day 7 rest for man 1,0000 year millennial kingdom.

Interesting Theory Can’t prove it, it takes some mental gymnastics so I leave it as that a theory that I can’t verify, but maybe that is God’s plan. The only reason I give some credit to it, is that I believe that Adam did live almost 1,000 years. That is a BIG BELIEF OF FAITH IN THE BOOK. I believe in a young earth and a worldwide flood, This is a BIG BELIEF IN THE BOOK. I also believe in a literal coming 1,000 reign of Christ on the earth.

Sin reaps your eventual death.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

But I don’t die on this hill. The Bible doesn’t spell it out, so go with the idea that sin makes you currently dead.

Best theory the Zombie theory

Ephesians 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

You were dead in your sins! That is black and white.

SINNER = Dead man walking (hence zombie theory)

Ephesians 2:5 “even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),”

SAINT = Alive in Christ (Regeneration)

John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.””
