Reconciliation Before Worship

Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.

Then the Lord spoke … When a man or woman commits any of the sins of mankind, acting unfaithfully against the Lord, and that person is guilty, then he shall confess his sins which he has committed, and he shall make restitution in full for his wrong and add to it one-fifth of it, and give it to him whom he has wronged. But if the man has no relative to whom restitution may be made for the wrong, the restitution which is made for the wrong must go to the Lord for the priest, besides the ram of atonement, by which atonement is made for him. Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions.

If someone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over (παραδῷ) to the judge, and the judge may hand you over (παραδῷ) to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Truly I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny. For while you are going with your opponent to appear before the magistrate, on your way there make an effort to settle with him, so that he may not drag you before the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.

Do not go out hastily to argue your case; Otherwise, what will you do in the end, When your neighbor humiliates you? The beginning of strife is like letting out water, So abandon the quarrel before it breaks out.
