When someone is hurting, give them a tangible next step that helps them turn from focus on suffering.

Ex. Tomorrow you’re going to call me and we are going to talk, You will talk to your parent, you will do a devotional on the Bible app, We are going to get you connected to Youth Group

Crisis Situations:

Contact emergency services

If on a call, three way call with suicide hotline. If in person, call with them.

Loop someone else in for parent contact while you help with emergency

May have to take them to the hospital if that’s the recommendation from emergency services.
