Exodus 3:1-3

God begins His rescue by coming near before His people ever notice Him working.

I. God Meets in Midian (v. 1-2a)

Moses is shepherding Jethro's flock — ordinary work in a forgotten place.

He's on the far side of the wilderness — far from Egypt, not far from God.

Horeb is called "the mountain of God" — God knew the place before Moses did.

The angel of the Lord appears first — God moves before Moses responds.

Bridge: If you feel unseen at work, at home, or under a pile of bills, God is not far from that place.

II. Burning, Not Broken (v. 2b)

The bush is on fire — but it does not burn up.

The flame is real — but fire is not the final word.

God's holy presence reveals — it does not waste the bush.

The Rescuer is near — and Moses is not consumed.

Bridge: When life feels like fire, don't miss the God who can hold you together in the middle of it.

III. God Gets Attention (v. 3)

Moses sees a "remarkable sight" — too strange to ignore.

He turns aside — because God first came near.

Curiosity isn't the hero here — God's mercy is.

At the cross, God came nearer still — to rescue sinners like us.

Bridge: When God gets your attention, don't just look at the sign — look to the Savior.
