Part I: The embarrassing events of seeing guys chasing me and my friends but actually weren’t - and subsequently throwing my back out
Part II: Learning shame from a young age and how to “deal with it”

We All Have Shame

Sometimes of our own doing
Sin / addiction, mental health issues, body image, personal pressure to “succeed” (i.e. comparing self to friends)
Sometimes the doing of others
Not measuring up to parents’ expectations, family issues, physical/emotional/sexual abuse

We Find Ways to “Deal with” Shame

Reject it (fight or flight)
Make excuses
Sweep it under the rug
Own it

The Difference Between Guilt and Shame

Guilt = I did wrong
Shame = I am wrong (i.e. there’s something wrong with me)
