Acts 20:17-28

Yesterday was a day of reflection for me. Asking myself what kind of Pastor/Preacher I want to be.
It was said of a pastor that after you hear him preach you wanted to Love Jesus more.
I want to be a preacher that has a tear coming down face rather than anger in my heart. I don’t want you to ever leave a sermon angry or opinionated. I want you to leave more in love with Jesus. I want to push you closer to Him and his word.
Paul is talking to the Elders at the church in Ephesus
v. 18 Paul’s testimony has been from the very beginning until know I have been consistent. I have served the Lord with humility through the tears and trials that I have had. The circumstances of my life did not stop Paul from serving the Lord.
v. 21 He told everyone to repent toward God and put your faith in Christ.
That is our job as well. This is part of the purpose in which God saved your for.
V. 22-23 Paul knew what awaited Him, but he was still obedient to the Lord.
Nor do I count my life dear - Romans 8:36
Romans 8:36 CSB
As it is written: Because of you we are being put to death all day long; we are counted as sheep to be slaughtered.
Worthy Anything - can be translated “I do not consider my life worth a single word”. Its not worth mentioning
Finish my race
With Joy
There maybe a lot of people doing the work of the Lord but there is a lot of them that aren’t happy about it.
The last place we should want to be is on the shelf useless for the Kingdom of God. More than that though the worst place to be is on the opposing side of God when we think we are on His side.
Ministry I RECEIVED
God gives the ministry. This is not my ministry or yours. It is God’s ministry, and if I start doing or saying things that God doesn’t want to take place in His ministry, He can take back His ministry.
There is a lot of churches who still have a building and meetings but they don’t have a ministry. Pastor’s may still have a pulpit but they may not have a ministry.
The last place we should want to be is on the shelf useless for the Kingdom of God. More than that though the worst place to be is on the opposing side of God when we think we are on His side.
We cannot do the ministry that we have been given without the Holy Spirit.
Testify of the Gospel of God’s Grace.
You can’t testify to something that you don’t have experience with.
V. 27 - I’ve not hidden anything from you
