Sabbath Morning August 1st

Who knows that we serve a god. Who is like none other? I know we have a few people in the house to the Lord this morning that understands that we serve a God who is like, no one else we can search time, we can search low. We can go to the east, we can go to the west and we will find none other like our God. A God, who loves us even when everyone else looked at a sideways. I got, who is for us, even when the whole world has turned its back against us. We serve a god. Family, who says, I have given my life for you. Even before you were even born. I know you're everything. I know everything that you do, and yet I am a God who redeems you and loves you and I will go to the end of the Earth for you. That's not just words family. That's the type of guy that we sing about when we say oh Lord. How excellent.

How excellent. A God? Who sees us a God? Who is for us? We are grateful for this. God, if you are happy to be in the house of the Lord, this morning, let me just here on clap off, ring for the Lord. Let me hear a few. Hallelujah in the house, some thank you. Jesus! Yes, yes yes. We serve a great God in the family. It is a pleasure to be with you in the house of the Lord. You know, I Am Naturally loud so I'm at my skar audio if we can just turn down or monitor just a little bit, just a little bit please. And I am, I am so glad to be with you in the house of the Lord this morning. Amen! Somebody As that long bile was read, I sat there and said now, we got to shorten this thing. I am so excited to be here. I am grateful for pastor, Brandon for my brother. My colleague for giving me the opportunity to fellowship with you. On this Savage, on this first week of August, I am grateful for both him and sister Yvette for just the opportunity to be in the space. I do not take it lightly when someone gives you the opportunity to speak to the flock that God has left in their care. And so family. I like I said I'm going to continue to say I'm excited to be in the space. I come, of course, bringing greetings from our Linwood Temple. They send their love Pastor, Marvin McLean, Jr. And his family send their love tour. Bethesda Family. I also come because I am really right next door to them. Bringing greetings from the conference office from both Pastor Josiah, Pastor Eichner and of course Elder Pearman I do not come alone this morning. Amen. Somebody we love being and Community. My, my dear sister, Diane came came with me and my niece who is baptized during summer, camp is sitting right next to her erelli and so I am grateful that they chose to make the truck on over here with me this morning family were going to get into this word. Is that okay with you? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. We're going to get into the word of the Lord. So we are reading from Philippians. What did I say? Philippians and we are in Chapter 4, verses four through seven. Am I asked you to please stand to your feet as we read the word of the Lord? Philippians chapter 4 verses 4 through 7. If you are there, say, amen. And if you are not there, it's okay. You can read it on the screen. Here we go. It says rejoice in the lord always, and again I say let your moderation be known unto. Oh man. That the Lord is at hand be careful for nothing. But in everything by what prayer and what supplication with what Thanksgiving, let your requests be known unto the Lord. And the peace of God, which surpasses or pass. It all what understanding shall keep your hearts and Minds through who through Christ Jesus family. Were going to spend a little bit of time this morning actually weren't afternoon. Now we're going to spend a little bit of time this afternoon under the title of the calm. That confuses people, the calm that confuses people this in before we move on. I also want to I also want to acknowledge both Peyton and braylin. Who are our summer camp babies this summer. It's so good to see them in the house. Let us bow our heads and close our eyes. Father God, we thank you so much. We thank you dear Lord, because you are who you are, because you are a God who cares. You are a God who loves and so dear, Lord, now, is this word is spoken this morning. Hide your serving behind your cross, your lord. May these be your words, may we be edified because of it. The Lord and as you have promised, your word will go out and it will not return void. We thank you. We love you. We praise you. And your most precious name of Jesus. We pray. Amen. You may be seated in the house of the Lord. Who here has a car? We have cars in the house. Yeah, yeah, we have cars as, you know, we love our cars, right? Because of our cars, we don't have to walk everywhere. But one thing we don't love is we don't love car problems. Lifecard issues are the worst. And recently, I've been experiencing some car issues. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I just got my car. My minivan. Because I have some nephews and nieces that live with me and dogs, and a mother. And so, we need a minivan for our family. I so we decided to get a minivan in about right after summer. Camp, sometime in June, the minivan started acting up. I know I put my foot on the brake. I would press the little button to turn it on and it was start up and it would die. And I'm like, okay, okay, we doing this today. Let's let's pray, let's cover this van in prayer cuz when you have one vehicle in your home, that one vehicle is precious. And so what would happen is, I would put my foot on the brake and I would press the button again and it would start up and it would die. And I do it again and again and again and you never know depending on the day in the weather outside how many times I would have to do that before my car would start like start and stay started. Do for instance, Fourth of July. We decided we were going to try it. We said you know what, we went to church that Sabbath and after Sabbath was done we said we want to watch the fireworks so we got in the car, I put my foot on the brake. I press the button and it started up beautifully and so we drove on off and we get to where we're going and we stopped and we watch the fireworks and after the fireworks are done I get back in the car. Put my foot on the brake. Press the button. And it doesn't do anything. And in at about this time is about 10:30. At night in a parking lot, listening. We decided to go to the B side of town. We weren't Overland Park, so we're good, right? We proceeded, you know, my my nephews and my nieces. They got out of the car. They had a volleyball with them, they started hitting it around practicing for volleyball season. And, and, and, and, and, and I just sat there. Foot on the brake. Pressing the button. Listen to this car start up and die start up and die. And I one point I was like, okay. God just get us out of here by midnight by midnight. Like, that's all I want, right? Like, I want to be in my bed by midnight. ISO foot on the brake. Press the button starts up and it dies. Finally at about 11:47. I know. Can I see magic? I've been there for a while now. Foot on the brake. I press the button and it starts up and it stays started. And I said, Hallelujah guys, get in the car and get in the car so we can all get in the car. We drive home. And I thought to myself, man, God, you're so good. You're so true because all I said was God let him start before midnight? and God was like, it'll start before midnight and some And I was like alright alright we can do this. The thing is that like I had been experiencing this for a few weeks and so I take my car to the dealership. And the dealership says you have a messed up fuel fuel, pump module I said, okay, $750 later I know, I pick it back up, I take it home, put on the brake pressing the button, it starts up and it dies. Goodness gracious, take it back. Listen, let me tell you. Even up until yesterday,

I went to pick up my van. They said we kept it a few days for you. We made sure that it works. I said, hallelujah. Thank you. Jesus. Y'all are great. I take it up. I drive to the gas station, I'll put gas in, I get back in foot on the brake pressing. The button is startups in it dies.

But here's the thing, here's the thing is the thing is that these types of things are frustrating. If it was my BC days which means before Christ days, someone was about to get it because I look like I'm white. But by all means, I am Polynesian. I do not let the song. One girl in Faster Liz, come out It's so it's so it's so I'm like my distance frustrating. I don't know if you've ever been their family. I'm not sure if you've ever been to the point where where you're frustrated about something, and then you read that, Paul says to rejoice in the Lord. Mercy, somebody Always.

Always. When you put your foot to the brake you press, the button is starts of anodized and you want me to rejoice. always and again, I say rejoice, Mercy. And and so I sit back and I think to myself, this just doesn't make sense. But if you ask my kids, you ask my nieces and my nephew still tell you that I was as cool as a cucumber.

And they just didn't understand it there. Like until is, I'd be so mad right about now and I'm lame on. Are we good guys? And the reason why we were good was because I knew eventually it would start No matter how long it took this to stop there and put my foot on the brake and press the button. I knew that eventually this van would not let me down perfectly I'ma tell my kids, they sit back in there. Like a seal is we don't get it like why are you so calm? And I bet that's the same question that I asked of Paul as I'm reading this. What do you mean rejoice in the lord always? And again, I say rejoice and family. If as I look at this, I want to because I love giving road maps, I want to give you a roadmap so you know exactly where we are in this sermon and you know, when it's about to be done. Okay, so the first point, I want to make it is a question. Is the question family is, how can we get the type of Cam that confuses people?

Sprite. And the first point that I want to present to you is that we can get it because we understand that our circumstances do not dictate our calmness. Our circumstances do not dictate our what are calmness. The second point that I want to make this this afternoon, as I want to I want to, I want to communicate that our communion with Christ cultivates. Our calmness Not the type of communion that we have every quarter, our relationship with Jesus right? Our communion with Christ cultivates, Our calmness. And then the last point I want to make this afternoon. Is that Christ is the foundation of our comments. Christ is the foundation of our, so here's the thing, is that interesting to me as we talked about this, that Paul admonishes us to rejoice and find joy in God. Because if we understand, will know that Paul Paul was it at home in his studies while he was writing this, right. Like Paul wasn't sitting under a nice cool palm tree while he was riding this. He wasn't eating mangoes and papayas. Right. Paul my friends, my family. Paul was sitting in prison. Probably sitting in prison writing this a place and and when you think about prison think about a place, this is a Roman prison and I'm thinking it's a place that has walls that are probably cold and down. Bright, the lights are probably dim, think about this situation that he's in, he's constantly chained to a Roman soldier. As a matter of fact, he wasn't just changing the hours of 8 to 5. When that Soldier went home, they chained him to another Soldier and so and so. Everytime one guard leaves. Another takes his place. There's no privacy. There's no certainty everyday. Paul wakes up. And Paul wonders, is today the day that I'm going to go before whoever the ruler is Caesar at this time and he's going to tell me that I might have to die. Or is today the day that I get to go home? And Paul, he has every reason to be anxious. Paul has every reason to question God. And in the midst of this situation in the middle of these unfavorable circumstances, the Apostle writes and says to rejoice Always. and again, I say rejoice, now listen, if I were one of, if I were one of the Believers and Philip, I reading this letter for the first time I'd probably read this and be like, hold up. Father, you serious? You're in prison. Instead of writing rejoice in the lord always, you should probably be singing at 8 Khan song right about now. I've been locked up. They won't let me out. That's probably what you should be doing. Not writing rejoice in the lord always fall. What what are you doing in there? I mean I mean you've been falsely accused you sacrificed everything for the gospel and yet you're telling us to rejoice How can a man claim so much joy? When you're in a place that kills it, And we can easily bring that to 2026. Right? We can easily look at the words of the Apostle and say you'll Paul. Yeah, that's right. That's easy for you to say. You don't live in 2026 where gas prices are surging? You don't live in 2026 where everywhere you look or food sources are contaminated. You don't live in 2026 where there are literally no jobs out here and for those of us who do have jobs and have to carry two, three, four jobs. We've barely making us to feed our family and your like, listen, listen, Paul, Paul, Paul, Paul, you don't understand because you're not having to deal with your loved ones dying at an early age Paul, you don't get it because me because you, you don't you, you don't get that, my relationships are breaking apart in the people that I thought would have my back. I've actually their backs on me. Pause. Listen to this would be a lot easier for you to say because you're not always waking up. That our children are dying. That... Our men and women in the military are dying that are food. Sources, are dying that our hopes are dying that our dreams are dying. And everywhere, we look, it's gray and bleak. And hopeless. What do you mean rejoice? And again, I say rejoice, And I'd like to submit that the answer is found in a small phrase, that changes everything. Paul says to rejoice in the lord. Always He doesn't say to rejoice in your circumstances. Paul does it say rejoice? Because Prison is wonderful and I love it here. Paul. Does it say rejoice because everything is working out? He does it say rejoice because you're in a perfect situation. He doesn't say rejoice because Pastor Liz is reading it to you. He says rejoice in the lord always but in the Lord Paul understood that, while his circumstances might have changed family that Jesus had not I saw his circumstances, don't dictate his calmness, his location might have changed the people. Around him might have changed, the future might have been uncertain, but the, but the Apostle understood that his circumstances do not dictate his face. His circumstances, they didn't dictate his Joy or his piece or his mindset. His circumstances didn't dictate his calmness because his comments was never built on circumstances to begin with. And family. If I'm honest, I'll say that a lot of us struggle with this. What do you mean? Pastor Liz. I'm so glad y'all asked. The issue for so many of us is that our peace Rises and falls with what's happening around us. It's easy to experience, calm. When the money in the bank looks good. But when you start having a pinch, those panties. Now, all of a sudden you yelling at your children, Where you having a pinch? Those pennies now, it's saying you kicking things around, right? It's easy for us to experience, calm when the doctor's report is good, man. But now, we just sitting there sweating for no reason, cuz the doctors are for ain't come in yet, it's easy for us to experience, that's when our kids are doing well. When the relationship is thriving when everything is going according to plan, but lit one phone call come in. Let one unexpected Bill show up in the mail. Let One debit come out of your account that you weren't focused on her. You weren't depending on family. One disappointing doctor's appointment happen. Let one relationship fall apart. Let that teenagers speak to me disrespectfully, one more time, And suddenly our peace is out the window.

Suddenly you like your you about to get this piece real quick? And the truth is that we've allowed our circumstances to become the thermostat of our emotions. Listen, listen, in other words, we've allowed the circumstances of Our Lives to set the temperature of our hearts. So when life gets cold, or hope gets cold, when pressure is rise or anxiety, starts to rise when disappointment settle in our peace walks out, but a child of God was never meant to be controlled by the climate around. This family, we are called to be governed by the Christ who lives in us. And this afternoon, the Apostle who is reminding us that our surroundings do not have to determine the joy in our spirits that are prisons. Don't have to define the piece that we have. In our hearts are storms, do not dictate our Comm because family of your calmness is dictated by your circumstances. Then your comment will disappear every time your circumstances change. but when our cam Is Anchored In Jesus, when your joy is in the Lord, when your confidence rest in the unchanging Christ, you can remain calm. Even when you put your foot on the brake, you press the button, your car starts up and it dies. because family, because because we understand that our circumstances Are not an image of our Jesus. And so, so if pause it, pause it pause circumstances, didn't produce his his calm Under Pressure. Then what did Then, what did I like to submit communion cultivates? Calmness communion with Christ cultivates, calmness. Philippians 4, verse 6. It says do not be anxious. Do not be what? Anxious about anything about what. But in everything. What is the word by prayer and supplication with Thanksgiving? Let your requests be made known to God. Anxiety is so real. I don't have to tell you that, cuz every time we look around someone, someone even if it's ourselves, someone's dealing with a mental health crisis, someone is dealing with the anxiety of not. Knowing what this world has has come to, and Paul, he understood this. Listen, they might not have called it depression when Elijah was going through it, but there was mental health issues in the Bible, I saw Paul. He understood anxiety because he had lived through shipwrecks, and beatings, and imprisonment, and rejection, and hunger, and uncertainty. If anyone had on the right, To be anxious. It was Paul. And yet while writing to the church in Philippi, Paul says, do not be anxious. And then he says about anything but in everything, anything and everything I find this, I find it's really interesting because because again, the question is, if circumstances didn't produce Paul's calm, Under Pressure than what did the answer? Is that Circumstances had no way to produce and dictate his calmness. It was cultivated because he had a relationship with Jesus Paul understood. He knew that there was nothing too big and nothing too small to bring before the Lord, the Apostle tells us that communion with God, cultivates calmness. And in order to have communion, if we can get, if we can get phillipians 4:6 on the screen in order to have communion with God, Philippians 4, chapter 6, on the screen please.

Thank you, thank you. Do in order to have in order to have communion with God, there are three key words that I want to point out in chapter 6. I mean, in verse 6, there are three key words. At least three key words are prayer. What is it supplication? And Thanksgiving prayer and supplication and Thanksgiving so prayer. And other words living in constant fellowship with God. Not just checking in once a week but walking with him everyday, making it a daily practice to connect with our creator, right prayer and for real prayer, not just, thank you Jesus for the food. Amen. Right? Bringing are bringing our stuff before the Lord, and then there's supplication. What is supplication? Supplication is making specific heartfelt request. Pulling out our hearts before the Lord, right? Telling him exactly what we're carrying. God is Not intimidated by our fears or tears, or our questions, he welcomes all of it and then, and then, and then, and then the Apostle rights Thanksgiving. This was probably one of my favorite Parts because Paul doesn't say to thank God after everything has worked out. He says to thank God while you're still waiting. Thanksgiving is an act of faith that says, God. I don't know how you're going to work this out. But I trust that you are already at work and not just that, but I trust that whatever the circumstances, maybe you have my best in your plans. That's that, that that's what it means. When we say communion with Christ cultivates. Calmness is bringing every burden into the presence of God, until our perspective starts to change. How does that happen? Listen. Our first Elder had preached, the sermon a couple weeks ago. At Lynnwood, if you want to watch it go ahead and watch. It was about prayer is an amazing sermon and when he preached the sermon he had used, Elijah sending his servant back seven times to look for rain, right? And in this sermon, he talks about how it lies, you knelt down, and he put his face between his knees and he prayed And when he said this, he was like, listen, even when you don't see something happening continue to pray and when you think that you've prayed enough for you, again, when you think that you had enough prayer. Pray Again, because God is on his way and here's the thing. And Paul never says that when we pray our problems would disappear, How I wish he did cuz then I'd be like God, why you my problems disappeared yet? But that's not what Paul says, because Paul wasn't new to this. It was his first time in prison Paul had been in prison before acts 16 happened in Filipino family. This is the very City that's receiving this letter. Paul and Silas had been beaten. They've been being not only had they been being bad been thrown into like the deepest part of the jail. In the Bible tells us, the Bible tells us that that at that at about midnight at about midnight. This is verse 25 of chapter 16, it says about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. And here's, here's the thing is that they weren't complaining. While they were in prison, they were arguing, while they were in prison, they weren't panicking. While they were in prison, they weren't doing, but maybe some people would do not us cuz we're really good at Venice, but they weren't cussing the Jailer out. Right. It said, the Bible says they were praying, they were singing, they were worshipping. They were proclaiming the goodness of God. And can you imagine sitting in prison and a miss? The sounds of mummies and groaning and curses are probably filled the jail suddenly you here in unfamiliar. Sound. and they're probably sitting there going there is none like you

No one else can touch my heart like you do. I will bless the Lord. Oh my soul. And all that is within me, come on.

Please.

Listen family. Paul didn't wait until the prison to learn how to commune with God. He had already started doing that. His Comm was evident through the trials but it wasn't created in prison. And here's a problem. Is that a lot of times we think I pray you when I get there. I talk to God when I get there, but let me remind you dot-dot-dot athletes, do not do not get ready for the championship while in the championship.

They do it long before they get there. Right? I need us to understand family that soldiers don't learn discipline while they're in the middle of the war. They've already prepped for that trees don't grow roots when the hurricane comes, the trees have been growing route. So that when the hurricane comes, they are steady and firm and they know where the stand Christians. We so often because the Lord tells us that I will be with you and I will never forsake you. We think we can act up all the way to win the problem shows up. And then we say, all right, guy helped me and God's like that bro you should have been doing that. Aren't you grateful? That's not the type of God, we serve.

He going to show up in your time of need but if you don't know how to act before your need comes you going to have a harder time acting when you in the middle of your need. and so, and so, and so, if our conversations, if the only conversations that we have with God happen, when life is falling apart Family, Then I need you to understand that your faith will always feel fragile. but when communion becomes your daily rhythm, When prayer becomes As Natural as breathing, you discover that prayer doesn't always remove the storm but it often studies the Sailor. In the same way, prayer doesn't always change your circumstances immediately. But someone in the house today, needs to know that it always changes the person who prays

when our lives are marked by consistent communion with God, we discover that calm isn't something we manufacture It's something the holy spirit cultivates in the presence of Christ communion isn't a destination family. It just leads us to the one who is the destination. And that one is quite the foundation of our calmness, Philippians 4 verse 7, and this is the one we love to quote and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ, Jesus, understand that calmness rests in Christ. Peace, rest in Jesus. He is the very Foundation that our lives can be built on. Our faith can be, our faith can be on shaken. Family are peas, can confuse people are calm, can cause people to look at us and wonder how we can still pray in the midst of the storm. And it's only because our foundation is in Jesus. And the word guard that is used in this verse is a military term. Paul intentionally chooses a word that his readers would recognize instantly. You see the the city of Philip. I was a Roman Colony. Its citizens, we're accustomed to seeing Roman soldiers, all over the city. They understood what it meant for soldiers to stand guard. Write a Roman soldier was in passing. They stood watch, they protected would have been entrusted to them. They kept the enemy from getting in as someone Paul is writing these words from prison, when Paul is writing these words from prison, we've established that he's chained to a Roman soldier. Everywhere he goes. There's a there's a, there's a guard every time he moves, another reminder that Rome has somehow have now has authority over his body. but while Rome guarded, I love this because while Rome Garden Paws body Christ Garden Paws hearts, And so Rome Rome and all of its power could chain has hands but it couldn't change his hope. Rome could imprison him but it couldn't imprison his piece and so wrong could determine where Paul live but it never determine how Paul lift. The very soldier that was standing beside Paul became a living illustration of what God was doing. So just as the Roman soldiers. Stood, watch over Paul physically, the peace of God stood watch over him spiritually. And so, he wasn't, he wasn't overcome by fear, because I know that there are few of us, who, if we were in jail, would probably be writing letters. Someone come get me. Come post bail please now? Right. But but, but, but Paul, in this situation, his heart was guarded by The God, Who is the foundation of calmness, this is the peace of God and it's the same piece that the Bible illustrates was time and time and time. Again, I'm bringing this to an end for you guys, this this afternoon, but I need us to understand..... That when we think of the Life of Christ we can think of the fact that he was always. So, calm and peaceful. there a couple of times where he kind of shows his, you know, but for the most part, Jesus was calm and peaceful, right? So when the disciples panic in the middle of the storm, where was Jesus asleep on a cushion, while everyone else. They were going to die. Jesus rested. Because he knew his father's power was greater than the winds and the waves. When false witness is Accused in before Pilate, Jesus refused refused to defend himself because he wasn't shaking by the lies. You know why? Because his identity wasn't determined by public opinion.

In The Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus, wrestled, with the weight of the cross. And he poured out his heart before the father, yet he surrendered himself by saying not my will but yours be done. And it's calmed that confuses people that were talking about. It comes from knowing Christ, and it only comes from Christ. Before Jesus went to the Cross, he made a promise to his disciples that Echoes all throughout Philippians as Paul rights and John 14. Verse 27, the Bible tells us peace. I leave you my peace. I give you not as the world. Do I? Give you let not your hearts. Be troubled. Neither, Let It Be Afraid. Jesus isn't just offering any peace family. He's offering his peace. He's offering his peace, the very peace that carry Jesus, Through storms, betrayal suffering, rejection, Gethsemane. Is the peace that he gives his his followers. Jesus didn't simply teach about peace, Jesus and body. Peace. And because Paul had experience that he could write about peace from a prison cell because his confidence was it in favorable circumstances, it was in a faithful Savior. So often we try to build our peace, some things that were never meant to support it family. We build it on. Good news, then the phone rings. We build it on favorable circumstances. In life, doesn't go according to our plans. We build it on answered prayers and then we get mad when he God says no. We build are our comments on easy seasons, and suffering comes knocking at our doors. the family, anything that is built on changing circumstances, will eventually collapse because circumstances are constantly changing But Christ never changes. His character is Constance. His promises are certain his presence is faithful. His love is unfailing. His power is Limitless, and he reminds us that Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. So is Christ isn't changing than the piece that is rooted in Christ. Can remain unchanging as well. The foundation family, determines the stability of the house. When does Storms Come? They expose when you've been standing on If you built your piece on success, this appointment will destroy it. If you built it on people, betrayal will surely shake it if you've built it on possessions guess what your loss Will empty you. But if you build your pizza on Christ, the storms may come and beat against your life, but they cannot destroy you because your foundation is stronger than your storm and storms. Don't last tell your neighbor say, neighbor storms, don't last But Jesus Does. The secret family, we are bringing this to a close, the secret family to the cam, that confuses people, is not pretending that life is easy. It's not denying that the pain is real, it is not ignoring anxiety or Suffering. The Secret is knowing that beneath your feet is a foundation that cannot be shaken. When Christ as your foundation, you can face uncertain days with settled hearts. Not because life is predictable but because Jesus is our foundation. And you know what? The hymn says it because he lives. I can face tomorrow because he lives all fear is gone because I know he holds the future and life is worth the Living Just Because He Lives.

Let's go ahead and play a little something while we close out, please.

Tell me I'm not going to hold. You not even going to pretend like I understand it half the time. If you had walked into Paul's prison cell, you would probably have thought that something was wrong with him. How can a man in Chains, be smiling and telling others to rejoice? How can a man facing an uncertain future tell others not to be anxious? How can a man with every reason to panic right about peace. And from the world's perspective, Paul's, unreasonable, I come fuse them. It didn't make sense. That defied logic, it couldn't be explained by his circumstances, but that's exactly the point. It wasn't produced by his circumstances, it was produced by Christ. so, my question to you, before we leave Is what has your peace?

Been secured to. Where is your life anchored? Where is your cam? What is it based on?

Life is tough life life man, life be throwing us some stuff.

Life will toss you life, will swallow you up, chew you up, and spit, you back out. But here's the good news, is that most of us when we look at something that's been swallowed up, chewed up, spit out. We don't want it. I want it. Give me the new one. Give me a thing that's been so you know that that that looks smooth and shiny.

But God got says, now I want you. You are mine. I have redeemed. You that's Isaiah 43. He says, you belong to me. I know your name. So here's the question family. Have you been searching for that cam? Have you been searching for that piece? And maybe you found it, but somehow your wavering a little bit. Are you saying my God? I don't know. I don't know. I'm anxious. I want to remind you that the Apostle tells us to rejoice in the lord. Always And I want to remind you that we serve a God, who is a God over the wind and the waves and the storms of life. So if you are someone in the house and you're saying, all right? Yeah.

I just want I just need prayer because I'm going through through this thing right now and I need a remember where my calm and my piece is anchored. If you just need that Prime, I asked you to stand to your feet.

I just want to pray for you. This sabbath, heads are bowed. Eyes are closed.

Lord, you're never promised that life would be easy. as a matter of fact, I can specifically remember the opposite. He said the world would hate us. Because why would the world hate us? Why would the world love us? If the world hated you? I saw you, you said, you know what, you're going to go through some tough times. It's not always going to be going to be smooth sailing.

But the promise is that you would never leave us, nor will you forsake us? The promises that you give peace Beyond any of our understanding? I told you a larger children are standing in this house. Acknowledging that we are in need of you. Acknowledging, that..... There are things in this world that is throwing us for a loop. But we need your Holy Spirit to abide with us. We want that piece in that calm that comes to knowing who Jesus is with being in communion with your soldier. Lord, I am praying a specific prayer. that whatever it is that your children are standing in need of this sabbath that you would be the God who provides Dillard and not only will you provide physically but that you would provide spiritually that you would draw or Hearts towards you, that we would come to an understanding that life is meaningless. If you are not our foundation. So tear down walls, break chains, dear Lord. Do what you have to do because we know that you are able to

Bring wisdom. Bring Clarity, bring the sermon to our minds so that we can experience the peace that comes from only you. Heads are bowed and eyes are closed, family. I never want to leave. A space without giving someone the opportunity to give their lives to Christ.

So if you are in the house today and you said, you know what, Pastor Liz, I I want to experience that

I want to experience what a relationship with God. Looks like, heads are bow ties are closed. I need you praying family. Is that is you in the house? And you're saying, I want Bible studies because I want this relationship with God. I'm just going to ask you to raise your hand Where You Are.

We're not going to be here long if you want to experience a relationship with Jesus. I just need you to raise your hand and let us know. Father God. We thank you, we praise you. We asked the Lord, your blessings over your children, bless each and every family that is represented in this face. Bless our Bethesda. SDA Church bless our pastor, and his spouse and his family.
