What does it mean to have a heart after God’s?

Heart — just like the physical heart is the center and driving force of the body. The spiritual heart is the center of the inner. Our desires, motivation and our will. The place where we connect with God

“after” — Means to conform, does not mean equal or the same

Heart of the natural man Mark 7:21–23 “For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a person.””

How was David’s heart like God?

How do you develop a heart after God’s?

Focus and intent: Romans 8:5–6 “For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.”

Maintain Godly thoughts: Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

Renew Mind: Romans 12:2 “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
