Throughout his letter to the Philippians, Paul addresses the topic of joy repeatedly. He expresses his own joy despite his circumstances...he had learned to rejoice in spite of his present and past situations. And so, Paul wanted this congregation, people who were so close to his heart, to have the same joy. "Rejoice in the Lord!"
