Welcome to camp Pursuit 2026!

This weeks theme is called pursuit and Im hoping that by the end of the week you guys will be able to answer some questions about your own Pursuits .

What are the things in this life that you are chasing after , what things are you devoting all of your time and energy too?

And the main question.. Is Christ at the beginning and the end of ALL of our Pursuits?

Are we building our life on the rock and firm foundation that is Christ.

Id like to open the word tonight to the book of Psalm to Psalm 139

What you need to know about Psalm? The book of Psalm is a collection of 150 poems that express a wide variety of emotions , including love and adoration toward God, sorrow over sin, dependence on God in desperate circumstances , the battle of fear and trust, walking with God even when the way seems dark , thankfulness for Gods care, devotion to the word of God , and many more.

Lets read Psalm 139

This is very personable and direct God knows me, God is everywhere with me, God created me

This Psalm really lets you know the know the kind of God we serve , God is omnipotent (all-powerful) , Omniscient (all-knowing) , and omnipresent (everywhere at the same time)

David says you know when I sit which is to explain that He really knows every thing about us , Jesus would later say In Matthew 10:30 “But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.” If you think about that great detail of knowledge and how many hairs on our head thats a knowledge we cannot comprehend.

In verse 2, David writes “ You know my thoughts even when Im far away”

In Verse 3 , “ You know everything I do”

Verse 6, “ Such Knowledge is to wonderful for me , to great for me to understand” David understood that God knew him better than he knew himself . Please recognize the HE knows us better than we know ourselves.

ONE of the things that I have always admired about the Psalms is the degree of Honesty by the psalmist.

In a world where everything is counterfit and we have no idea what is true and every day another lie is being told its so common to not tell the truth . The truth sometimes seems to be a thing of the past in this world. Unfortunately if we aren’t careful we can begin to drift away from the truth because its been so long since we’ve heard it or… SO long since we’ve told the truth.

And when we have drifted from the truth of Gods word the lies and schemes of satan we can feel stuck in our sin,’

When it has been so long since we’ve been HONEST with God what often happens is we begin to believe that this Storm is to great to move on from or that this storm is to strong to weather,

David says that God has “Examined my heart” to examine is to inspect or study something in very close detail. And because God knows all things I would strongly encourage a sincere and honest conversation with the Holy Spirit,

The last verses are Psalm 139:23–24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!”

IN order to examine your own heart , in order for true repentance , requires real and raw HONESTY with Gods Holy Spirit.

It is my heart that from this week we can develope pursuits after God and His Heart , and might I say not just a pursuit after Him but a PASSIONANTE and relentless pursuit of JESUS and the path of everlasting life.

BUT First we have to be honest about where we are with GOD at this very moment.
