Welcome & Why

Today, we gather because of love.

The remarkable thing about love is that each of us carries a different understanding of it. The way we define love is often shaped by what we've experienced, what we've received, what we've longed for, and what we've chosen to give.

Each of you is here because someone you love invited you into this moment. Love is the reason we make many of life's most meaningful decisions.

Scripture tells us that God is love, but He is also the God of peace—a peace that often surpasses our understanding. It is that same love that has the power to bring people together, to create memories filled with laughter, to carry us through seasons of grief, and to surround us with family and friends as we celebrate two lives becoming one.

Today, we pause to witness that kind of love.

Prayer

Vows

Love has brought together family from different places, friends from different chapters of life, and today it has gathered us into one community to witness this sacred covenant. A covenant that is strengthened by vows.

Please face one another and join hands.

Marriage is more than a declaration of love—it is a covenant of commitment. Today you are making promises not only before one another, but before God, your family, and your friends. As you repeat these vows, remember that they are not simply words spoken for today, but promises you will live for the rest of your lives.

Repeat after me:

I, Caleb/Bety take you, Caleb/Bety to be my wife/husband.

I choose you today, and I will continue to choose you, every day we are blessed with together.

I promise to love you, to honor you, to respect you, and to be faithful to you.

I promise to stand beside you in seasons of joy and in seasons of difficulty.

I will celebrate your victories, carry your burdens, listen with patience, forgive with grace, and encourage you to become all that God has created you to be.

When life is easy, I will be grateful.

When life is difficult, I will remain committed.

I promise to laugh with you, pray with you, grow with you, and build a home filled with peace, kindness, and love.

This is my covenant with you.

From this day forward, for as long as we both shall live.

Rings

It’s quite ironic that we wear a reminder of marriage on our hands. Typically people look at their hands multiple times a day. May this ring be a reminder to never stop seeing each other. See each other’s needs, see each others heart!

Repeat after me as each places the ring:

With this ring,

I give you my heart.

I give you my love.

I give you my faithfulness.

May this ring remind you

that you will never walk alone,

because I will stand beside you,

today,

tomorrow,

and always.

I’ve done a lot of weddings, but this by far is one of the most special. You don’t think in sixth grade that one day you could be witnessing one of the most special days of someone’s life, but let us be reminded that this is what the power of love does, it will and forever continue to bring people together for a lifetime.

By the power vested in me and under the authority of God, I know pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride!
