1On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. 2Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. 3And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” 4Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” 5His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” 6Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom. 10And he said to him, “Every man at the beginning sets out the good wine, and when the guests have well drunk, then the inferior. You have kept the good wine until now!” 11This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.'

Aside from the groom, families were expected to provide sufficient wine and food to keep the guests satisfy if failure to do so brought great shame. This was a big deal.

You can be in the house of God and be foolish which bring’s shame. Matthew records the words of Jesus “the kingdom of heaven is likened to 10 virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.

a. “And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!’ Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the wise answered, saying, ‘No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.’ And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ “Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming.'

b.That was a desperate time that called for a desperate measure, but it was too late for them. Jesus is showing his grace by being at the right place and the right time. This morning God is extending his grace to you. When Jesus comes back for his church it will be a time of celebration don’t get left behind. It’s not too late to get filled with the love of Christ. The love that purifies the soul. Verse 6 Jesus mother tells them do whatever he tells you to do it. She knows what He’s about.

b. God is the original don dada, the creator, he’s the everlasting God. What God create’s, He create’s with great passion, He’s not a half stepper, He’s whole-hearted when he creates, We sing that song let creation sing. When God created us we we’re made to worship. His nature is to help us and fill our need. He said, Adam needs help. I will make him a helper. I’m going to create out of his body someone who can fill that need. He’s a miracle worker and what he did in Cana he still can do today, to give your water a touch of that sweet wine.

b. 23 years of celebration……… aging like fine wine. There’s value as the years add up! There’s a process of how wine is fermented. the initial process can take a couple of weeks and the second phase up to six months, but Jesus process was His word. There’s no fermentation needed because His words are pure, His words breathes life, His words never comes back void, but with victory, honor, and glory.
