Paul asks timothy to remind the church of the verses 11-13

It was probably an early church hymn.
We can see through early hymns and creed like passages in the bible what the believers thought
He then tells timothy to have them stop argyuing and quarrelling over little things
By no means does paul not defend the gospel, he is in prison for this matter
He confronts peter himself when we look in galatians
but he calls them to not have an argument about certain words or meanings, at the sake of destroying the whole gospel
Paul calls it useless and leading to quarrels
There were other teachers and people in the church having techincal discussions about the meanings of words
Bringing other theologies, matters, and issues
Over things that necessarily do not change the gospel
It is useless, leads to ruin
Instead of building up the church
Christianity is able to be told by it’s fruit
You have a well thought, smart, teacher of the word
Who can argue and be technical, and critique and judge and condemn
Or you have a believer not so well thought, but spreads the gospel
What is your fruit in your everyday life
Are you building up and edifying
or tearing the church down
and we get another point from scripture which is to not engage in these debates either
Foolish debates and arguments don’t work with unauthentic people
People will be quick to critique christianity with hypocricy
Not everyone, but some and it is wise to not engage
Paul tells timothy to be diligent in his work for god
In this case it is with teaching the word
A worksman works hard, and does his work with no error
Precise
With reason
So he can be proud of it
Do not be loose and speak and spread things you are not sure of
Don’t die on those hills
Don’t shy away from these things then
Strive and learn these things to be well equipped
Avoid godless and empty chatter, don’t even combat it
It leads to further sin
gangrene is the decaying or death of flesh that spreads, unless amputated
they were teaching that the bodily ressurection never happens, we don’t know much of this heresy
which shows it died out
The church will prevail
It is a comfort in the divine spiritual supremacy god has in the chutch
Numbers 16:5 “and he spoke to Korah and all his congregation, saying, “Tomorrow morning Yahweh will show who is His, and who is holy, and will bring him near to Himself; even the one whom He will choose, He will bring near to Himself.”
Numbers 16:26 “and he spoke to the congregation, saying, “Turn aside now from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing that belongs to them, lest you be swept away in all their sin.””
There is a divine side of the seal, and a human side
