Casa de Gracia – Santiago Papasquiaro, Durango, Mexico

Slide 1 — Mission 2026

Introduction

Good morning/afternoon.

Thank everyone for inviting us.

Introduce yourselves.

Explain that this was our fourth year partnering with Casa de Gracia.

This is much more than a mission trip—it has now become a ministry partnership.

Our purpose here today is:

"We simply want to show you what God is doing in the mountains of Durango, Mexico."

Slide 2 — Where is Santiago Papasquiaro?

Point out Mexico.

Show where Durango is located.

Explain it is about three hours northwest of Durango City.

Mountain community.

Rural area.

Beautiful scenery.

Many isolated villages.

Many families who live with very little.

But is riddled with old time superstition, witchcraft, and what has recently been creeping in, is

The worship of the angel of Death.

For these reasons, aside from other, is why the Gospel is desperately needed there just as it is here.

Transition:

"Now, Although we're separated by nearly 1,500 miles, we are all united by one Savior."

Slide 3 — So Why Mexico?

People often ask:

"Why Mexico?"

Answer:

First of all, Because Jesus commanded us to make disciples of ALL nations.

Second, because Yadi & I are personally acquainted with the community,

And we understand first hand the need for the Gospel there

And The Lord put it on my heart to be just as effective there, as He has be being here.

But its important to understand this also

Our Missions aren’t about Americans helping Mexicans.

No, It's about Christians serving Christians.

We at Anna First Baptist, are helping strengthen a faithful church already on the ground

With whom we have established a partnership of encouragement in Christ.

Key Statement:

"Please don’t misunderstand, We aren't exporting American culture.

We are proclaiming the Gospel."

Now, let me tell you a little about how we found found Casa De Gracia as a ministry partner.

—How went throwing rocks at the window, and yelling through the hallway, then hardware store

The bond between our churches have deepened and

And the church has become our family.

Together, we faithfully serve in

evangelism

discipleship

children's ministry

helping hurting families

Our help from outside, is tremendously needed and our partnerships matters.

Because they are doing all that we are, except with one difference

They have to do it under the threat of

hostility,

Insufficient finances,

Lack of resources,

and the threat of Narco criminals lurking behind every corner

Transition:

"Because they are already doing the work, we are simply walking alongside them."

— What We Do

Walk through each ministry.

Talk about:

preaching

witnessing

praying

handing out food

encouraging believers

children's ministry

fellowship

Mention:

"The greatest thing we hand someone is never food.

It's Jesus."

— Ministry Beyond the Church

Talk about food distribution.

Explain:

Food opens doors.

Compassion earns a hearing.

But food only lasts a few days.

The Gospel lasts forever.

Tell the audience:

"Every bag of groceries became an opportunity to pray with someone."

Insert story if desired.

— Now, What We Witnessed

Slide 8-12

Discuss:

People asking for prayer.

People wanting Bibles.

Families opening their homes.

Children listening carefully.

Church members serving sacrificially.

Mention:

"One thing that surprised us..."

"They were hungry—not just physically—but spiritually."

Slide 8 — A Testimony

We heard many testimonies Like

One Woman said she always believed "a little."

But Mother unexpectedly died.

Grief opened her heart.

Members of the mission team shared Christ with her.

Today she openly testifies to Christ.

Whats the Point?:

God uses ordinary conversations.

You know, People think missionaries go to help others.

Slide 13 — They Ministered to Us

But The truth is?

They end up encouraging us!

We experience their:

Their joy in serving the Lord.

Their generosity.

Their hospitality.

Their contentment.

Their faith.

Mention:

"They have less than many Americans......yet often seem to possess much more joy."

Slide 14 — The Children

Pause.

Let the pictures speak.

Discuss:

We saw many Children.

Saw Their smiles.

Their excitement.

Their eagerness.

You should have seen some of the shoes they wore,

If you can call them shoe.

Those poor babies.

The homes some of them lived in, — Shacks made of wooden pallets

The difficult conditions.

"But what impressed us wasn't what they lacked.

It was how excited they became when they heard about Jesus."

Digress

Honestly the

—Travel delays.

—Long days.

—Rain.

—Heat.

—Insects.

—Water issues.

—Unexpected schedule changes.

Any experienced missionary will tell you,

Mission work isn't glamorous.

In the midst of work on the mission field, God teaches dependence.

We learn on thing very quickly,

"We learn that ministry isn't about comfort. It's about obedience."

Partnership

This isn't a one-week event.

We hope that God will allow us to continue supporting Casa De Gracia

Returning every year.

building more Relationships.

Watching people grow.

Seeing children grow older.

Watching converts mature.

Because remember,

"We aren't building projects— We're building people."

How You Can Help

Encourage participation.

Three things.

Pray.

Pray.

Pray.

Then if God leads, GIVE to the mission fund

Encourage missionaries.

Tell others.

Everyone can participate somehow.

"Thank you for allowing us to share what God is doing through the partnership between Anna First Baptist Church and Casa de Gracia.

We hope you leave encouraged—not because of what we have done,

but because of what God is continuing to do.

Please continue praying for the people of Santiago Papasquiaro,

for Pastor Mike and the church family at Casa de Gracia,

and for the Gospel to continue reaching lives on both sides of the border."

A final suggestion

I would also add one more slide before the conclusion titled "What God Taught Us." That slide would make the presentation feel less like a travelogue and more like a testimony. You and Yadi could each share one or two lessons God impressed on your hearts—perhaps about dependence on Him, the joy of generous believers who have little, or how serving others often ends up changing the one who serves. For a retirement community, those personal reflections often become the part people remember most.
