And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them. “If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful.

GIVE and IT will be GIVEN to you

This phrase when properly understood will transform our relationships

There is a prophet named Elisha who visits a widow woman and son who are in great debt and have no hope of getting out of debt

The prophet asks the woman

2 Kings 4:2 ESV

And Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me; what have you in the house?” And she said, “Your servant has nothing in the house except a jar of oil.”

What shall I do for you?

2 Kings 4:

Tell me; what have you in the house?

He saw her need and then God used Elisha to help provide finances for her to not only pay off her debt but to have enough to live off of after her debt was paid off

give and IT will be given

What you NEED

something you gave up on

something you didn’t know that you needed

Elisha went on after helping poor woman to a wealthy home where the wife had left an open invitation for him to stop & eat b/c he was God’s man. When he arrived to her house this time her and her husband had decided to build him a room to stay whenever he was passing through.

Experienced God’s love

While staying in the room he prayed and God told him to deliver a message that even though she had been unable to concieve that she would have a son in about a year. & she did

how God gives when we give to others

but a while later the child had died and she came to Elisha upset at the death of her son and confused as to why this would happen

Elisha went in a prayed over the son and he rose from the dead so the woman

Access something that you didn’t know that you had by doing something that you didn’t want to do

give and it will be GIVEN

God is the giver

Colossians 3:23–24 ESV

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.
