Let Down Your Nets

All right, at this time children's church can be dismissed and we're going to turn our Bibles this morning to Luke 5:10 out of our first John serious. And I think you'll see why in a few moments. But Luke Chapter 5, is where we're going to be. And as as we thought about this weekend, as we thought about the the place that God was leading us, I'm going to share in a little bit how I came to this passage but certainly I pray it'll be a help to us as we study it together this morning, Luke Chapter, 5 ringer start reading a verse number one. Andrey down through verse number 11 and I'm going to let you stay season cuz I just told you to sit down and so starting the first one, it says it came to pass that is the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God. He stood by the lake emisora and saw two ships standing by the lake but the fishermen were gone out of them. And we're washing their Nets and entered into one of the ships which was Simon's and prayed him that he would Thrust out a little from the land and he sat down and talked to people out of the ship. And when you left speaking, he said unto them, Simon launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a drop. The time in answering 72 Master, we've toiled all the night, we taking nothing, never the last at Thy word, I will let down the net and when they're done this the enclosed, a great multitude of fishes and their net break, the back and others are Partners look for another ships. But they should come and help them and they came and filled both the ships. So they began to sink when Simon Peter saw you fell down at the Jesus needs saying, depart from me for, I am a sinful Man. O. Lord He was a song astonished than all. That were with him at the drop of fishes that they'd taken So also is James and John, the sons of Zebedee which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon fear, not from henceforth. Thou shalt catch men. When they brought their ships to land, they forsook all and followed him this morning that you'd help us as we ought to be encouraged. And strengthened as we think about what you have done in the past and is we leaned in to what you're doing in the future, God give us Hearts filled with anticipation. Thank you, God for this opportunity. Muse your word and our lives today as you see fit For Your Glory Christ name. We pray. Amen, throughout human history. God has called people both individuals and groups to specific points of decision. That proved to be Monumental in in their lives and for the mission of reaching the world. For the glory of God. Back in the Old Testament, there was a man named Caleb who at the age of 85 years old and Joshua 14 recognize that God was calling him to do something. Greater he was believing that there was something more for him. And in a paraphrase, he makes the statement I want that mountain, he understood that. There were giants in the land that there were things that were going to be figured out. There were things that we're going to have to be tackled and accomplished but he pressed on by faith. Why? Because he believed that God had something greater for him. The Old Testament also tells us of another famous person in Christian understanding, and that is the the woman named Esther Esther. When she found herself in a difficult or impossible situation when it came down to either saving her own life or saving the lives of her people. She recognized that there was something more that God was calling her to do. And so in the face of persecution at the least and death at the most, she says, what if I perish I perish and she leaned into a God had for her laying down her own life, for the glory of God and for the benefit of those around her. Paul and Acts chapter 20, verses 22 and 23 says this. And now the whole I go back around in the spirit into Jerusalem not knowing the things that befall me. They're saved that the Holy Ghost has told me or Witnesses. In every city, send the bombs and afflictions abide me again. Another example of someone who understood the difficulty that was in front of them, understanding that their lives were put put on the line, but still made the choice to follow, God by faith, not counting their life, or their Comforts, or their agendas or their preferences as dear, but they desired above above all else for the mission of God. In for the glory of God to be accomplished and made no. The common theme in these statements by these men and women of faith is that they're looking beyond their self themselves, their living for something bigger than their themselves. And they did that by following the Lord, through faith has already shared this morning. North side has a history of doing uncomfortable things to be positioned in a place to receive and be a part of what God wants to do neck. A Heritage of faith is not something to take lightly and truthfully, many churches at this stage when they reach, what could be a plateau or when they start cresting mile Stone markers like 50 years, begin to look Inward and say what I think we've done enough, I think we stepped out by faith enough, I think it's time for us to just to take in. Now what God wants to do here and when that happens, those church has become nothing more than sadly. A country club of believers who are satisfied with what God has done and have no Spirit of anticipation towards what God is going to do. And thankfully that's not the spirit of Northside. I read the statement the other day and it struck me Christ did not establish his church to become a museum of yesterday's victories friends. We can talk about all the good things that God has done and he has done good things to see the church that he has established here over the last 46 years. It's it's incredible. It's exciting to be a part of this but we can't simply hang our hats on what God has done. But we need to move forward with anticipation over what God is going to do it. So well, we should celebrate the past as we've done today. We must also look towards the future with hope and anticipation with Wonder and excitement at times the morning briefly the things that have changed or will changed. But at the same time and with a much greater fervency rejoicing in the things that God is doing in the present Halo than Esther in the Old Testament. And Paul in the New Testament, along with many others were fuel to press on because of what God had done in the past and their testimony, your faithfulness and phase is part of our heritage. And truthfully, it compels us to live for something more more than self, more than ordinary, more than the temporal. And as we look at this text today, and Luke Chapter 5, Jesus is Calling his soon-to-be disciples to understand the depth of the life that he's calling them, too. He's going to give them a glimpse of how to transform it. If it is to put your yes on the table to follow the lord. And he shows them in this text in a small or flea way, how incredibly fruitful it is to follow Jesus and give him your whole life. I'm not Caleb and you're not a stir. And none of us are Paul or the disciples. But like them. I want my life to count for something big.

I don't want my candle to be burnt out and mediocracy. I don't want to end my days, looking back thinking, man. I think God was leading us but we chose to stay comfortable. Rather, I want to put my yes on the table. And say, Lord whatever. Whenever you want wherever you want me to go, however, you want to use my life. However, you want to use this church, whatever you want to do. I want to be a part of it, not simply so that we can say we've done all these things. But so that the kingdom of God can flourish in the glory of God, can be made known. And so that those who are far from Christ, Can come to an understanding of who this Jesus is, and how much he loves them as he laid down his life for that. So we rejoice in what God has done, but at the same time we press on in faith believing that God, still has a greater work to do. The big idea this morning is this letting down. Your nets means more than simply going through the motions. That means laying down your life for the mission of God. So, this morning, I want to speak from 5 on the idea of let down your nets. Will see three things from the text this morning that I pray will be a help to us as we understand the next steps that God would desire for us to take. The first thing we see, is that were called to let down our net and obedience. Luke Chapter 5 is actually one of those confusing chapters. When it comes to understanding the timeline of Jesus's relationship with the disciples, we know from other places in Scripture that Jesus already had a relationship to some degree with those who would be his disciples. But at this point, they were still in the process of understanding who Jesus was, he was still in the process of leading them into a relationship with him. He was still in the process of opening their eyes to begin to understand who he was and what he would accomplish in. So they're not fully following as disciples yet recognized in verse 11. That this is the point where they realized it's time to forsake all and follow Jesus. This is the beauty of having four accounts of the gospels because Which gospel gives us glimpses of the unfolding story from different angles and different perspectives here, and Luke Chapter 5. Jesus had just finished the Temptation in the wilderness in chapter 4, had some interaction with Andrew and Simon who was later named Peter. But now things were going to get serious already in his ministry as seen in verse 1, Jesus was being pressed upon by great, crowds of people who are coming to hear him, they were interested in what he had to say. Because what he had to say was vastly different than anything that ever heard the way he talked his forties that he had DD. The excitement that was surrounding who was different than anything they had seen it. So the crowds were gathered in that day to see this man named Jesus and hear what he was going to have to say, well as he gets to the lake, Jesus recognizes the crowd is great. And so he uses his surroundings as an advantage and he sees two boats are in the entrance into one of the boats and he said, Let's go out a little ways so I can address the crowd of people that is present, there is much speculation as to why Jesus did that. I think in part, it was just naturally because a voice on the Water, Carrie is carries farther than the boys in the land in Jesus was using his surroundings to broadcast the message that he wanted to broadcast that day to the masses of people. But when Jesus has done sharing his thoughts, as he's done expounding upon, likely the Old Testament scriptures or maybe giving Enlightenment to some new ideas that we see in the New Testament. Jesus looks around and says, hey since we're in the boat, let's go fishing. Push out a little further. Simon. And let down your nets for a great catch, a fish. Now, we understand that Simon was a fisherman by trade, he understood when the right time to fish was he understood what the conditions needed to be? He understood the simple fact as he states that Jesus, we've already done this all night long. There's no fish in this part of the lake, but he follows it up with this. Nevertheless will do it. If a Jesus has this conversation with Peter, he tells them to cast Archer to do a little further and to let down their nest, and Peter had a choice to make In This Moment.

He can say Jesus. You don't fish at this time of day or you could say, Jesus, we've already tried fishing in this spot and you know what? That corresponds with 22 statements that dying churches, make and are the number one Jesus. We've never done it that way before. And Jesus, we've already tried that. Either one of those statements is dismissing, the command that Christ has given to the disciples and I believe either one of those statements is dismissing. What I believe, God wants us to do, and you've got to make your own decisions when it comes to these things. But I'm firmly Believing by faith. That the next step that God has for us is to step out a little further and believe that he has something more for us. It's a pain to Reggie, here's the command of Jesus. As he hears Jesus a press out a little further and let down your nets. He could have responded with cynicism or criticism but rather Peter decided to respond in obedience. He pushes past the fleshly urge to push against what Christ is saying and he leans into a crisis saying. And it's we're going to see because of that, he sees a miracle, take place before his very eyes. For the last 15 months as I've mentioned, and especially the last few weeks, I have struggled with this idea of should we step out on faith, or should we just remain on the shore? Where it's comfortable? Should we step out by faith and do the thing that we believe God is leading us to do? Or should we just try to continue to manipulate and change the spacing of our chairs from 18in down to 16 in, then we can add a few more rows? Can we hang some chairs from the ceiling? How can we get creative to fit? More people in this building friend. Sometimes, we seek to get created in our own ways. And when we do, we missed out on what God is, opening us up for if we would only be willing to follow him by faith. So Jesus says he's having this conversation with Peter does go out a little further and let down your net and Peter decides. To respond in obedience to follow the lord, to do what was unconventional in his day to do. What could have caused criticism to come upon him by the fisherman that were around him? Because Peter was the fishermen and Jesus was the teacher, Jesus had no business, telling the fishermen had a fish. If Jesus was just an Earthly, man. But friend, Jesus was not just an Earthly, man. He's the one who controlled the fish in the sea. He's the one who knew what was next for Peter. And so, he called him to step out by faith, believing The Words of Christ and Christ knew that if he would do this, he would see a miracle that was beyond What Simon understood in that moment? It's always step out in obedience. We step out believing that the mission of God is greater. Then we can even fathom. What does Jesus say? At the end of the gospels, go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature?

And I wonder how how are we going to take part in this next step? As we step out by faith. Jesus says launch out, Peter launch out and let down your net and I promised you that you'll catch him an amount of fish that you can't even fathom. I don't want to get hyper spiritual and say the Lord has told me that by this time, next year, we're going to have to be moving to three services, because that's not how the Lord has spoken to me. It's not and I don't want to say this is going to work out seamlessly and of the Year, everyone's going to love this more than they've ever loved anything in their lives before. But I will say that when I step into the position as lead, Pastor back in 2018, I stood in the middle of the aisle on a Sunday morning during Sunday school and said, hey guess what, we're going to try some things that we believe God is calling us to do and I can promise you some of those things might fail. And I'll make that statement again today. I don't know what's going to happen. By us doing this. But I know by not doing it. We won't have an opportunity to see what God could do. I know by not doing it. I'll spend the rest of my years as your pastor filled with wonder and regret.

So I'm encouraging us as a church to follow the lord in obedience to do all we can do to reach the most people we can reach so that those who are far from Christ to be apart of the great catch of fish. As those who come to faith in Christ, we let down our Nets in obedience. This morning is that we let down our net by faith in versus 6 and 7 to text continues and says when they had done this they enclosed a great multitude of fish is in their net break and they beckon under their Partners which ran other ship that they would come and help them and they came and filled, both the ships. So they began to think we're called to let down. Our necks in obedience were called to let down our Nets by faith. Question for you this morning. Did Peter know what was going to happen when he cast his net him know? He did not but he believed that Jesus was worth obeying and he believed that there was something significantly different about this man that was worth following. And so without visible proof and in believing the word that Christ spoke, he let down his net and the word there that is used draw. Is is better English? Where would be just for a catch? He let down his Net for a catch. And as we read verses 5 through 7, we recognize that Simon In This Moment. Sees God do more than he ever thought God would do as the Nets that the captain or the net that he cast them was filled to capacity and began to break it. So this is what we're doing. We're Steppin Out by faith. We're letting down our net and we're believing that God is going to do the work. That only God can do. I can tell you today, friends, I can't fill a church. I can't. But God can and God doesn't just have the ability or capacity to fill it. Once he has the ability and capacity to fill it overflowing multiple times and that's what I'm believing God for. I'm not believing in praying. Jacob you know let us go to two services and then let us Plateau. That would be a foolish prank. I'm saying God take us to greater things. It may be for now, it's two Services, maybe in the future. It's a bigger building. Maybe it's a church plant down the road. I don't know what it's going to be. But I want to believe God for more. I want to believe that God has the ability and the capacity to do beyond what my mind can understand to do. Beyond with my mind, can dream of. And can I tell you? He's already done that, he's already done that and if he's done that, he can do it again. So Peter didn't fully anticipate what Christ would do in this moment, but he followed by faith believing that Christ was worthy of him following and friend. This is what hard to hide does that as we follow him by faith, he opens our eyes to see the fullness of the work that he's doing all around us. What are the things I've appreciated over the last year-and-a-half? Two years is Sarah Gould. Testimony of a seeing God do greater things as she stepped out by faith and entered into FCA Ministry was indeed a step of Faith. Leaving a good salary having to raise support for what God was calling her to next. Time After Time, Sarah has come with testimony saying this is what I'm seeing God doing. This is what I'm seeing. Doing. Nobody asked you a question was God, doing those things before Sarah stepped out, my face. 100%. Yes. Do you want you your recognize what happens when you step out by faith? You begin to see in a greater way. The things that God is doing all around you. And as we step out by faith, as we let down our net by faith, I believe we're going to see God, do those very same things here, listen to these numbers and again it's not about numbers but numbers help us understand at the track record of what God is doing Easter service. Has always been a big service for us in 2023. We had 278 people come through the doors of the church and we were blown away. At that point, I think we had a 240 chairs and so we we in a mad rush. After Easter breakfast said, we got to do something right it. So we got folding chairs from downstairs and if the fire marshal came in that day, he would have shot us down in a moment because there was no way you could get out of this building. In 2024. We said God, what are you going to do in 292 people showed up to Easter Service.

in 2025, we prayed and said, God we believing that you can do greater things and 308 people showed up for Easter Service, In 2026, I began praying early that year about what God would do next and without telling anybody. I prayed for a specific number. I said, God, I know you can.

I'm asking that you will not because of numbers. But because we wanted to see this place full and overflowing. I was talking to Matt one day. I was standing in his doorway. Usually he stood in my doorway cuz I was the lead pastor and I made him come to me, but that Sunday, I was standing in his door and I said, I do, I don't know what, what, what do you think's going to happen? Easter Sunday. Cuz I don't know. He said every year, it's gone up every year God has done more every year. God has done greater things. So we sat there and we said, I think we should do it and you're probably saying do what? I think we should go to two services. It's all we did, and truthfully, that was a test for this and some ways to see how we can handle it. Easter Sunday, we pray that God would fill this place, I prayed for a specific number. The number that I prayed for was 400 people that was 92 people above what he brought the year before. And what did we seek? I do. He brought 411 people here on Easter Sunday. Why? Why? Because of all that we ask for. But if we step out by faith, we can't let our faith limit what God does. But we thank God. We believe you can. And we leaned into the fact that he can and we let down our neck believing that he will. And sometimes God blows our minds and not only do we have 411 people on Easter Sunday, but I think we had eight or nine people trust Christ as their savior, which was the whole point to begin with. But those were far from Christ, would come to understand who Christ is So God can do more. I reached out to Tom Wagner. Many of us are familiar with him. He came and did the couples conference last year. Tried to do it a few years ago, but we won't get into that store right now.

I reached out to him and he has become a friend and a mentor to me.

I reached out to him and said, this is what we're thinking. And with great encouragement, it was great faith. He said Dan, he said, pray that God would give you a verse

That you could share with the church. That would help you have confidence and what God wants to do next. There's this man of great. Faith in me. Oh, ye of little faith and I'm thinking, I'm going to do nothing. Seems to resonate with me. later that week I got a call from a friend who was just needed some help figuring something out of his church and we were talking and I shared with him, this passage I said you remember when Peter says, we've already tried that, but never less at your word, will try it again. I said, this is why, this is how you need to approach your church in this matter. And mid-conversation in mid-sentence, what did I say to out loud? I said that's for me. Like, this isn't just for you. This, this is for me, this is what I needed to hear it. So we finished our conversation hung up. I didn't have time that at that moment to dig into this passage. And so later that night I couldn't sleep, it was about midnight and I pulled out my Bible in just started going through these. There's a couple different passages that have a couple different accounts like this and I found this passage and just started to read. As I read through it, I got down to verse

Number 7. and it says me back into their Partners which were in the other ship that they should come and help them and they came and filled what both the ships.

Fill both the ships I laid in bed and I got the biggest smile on my face at 12 at night and then I did something. That I told Tom Wagner about you said that sends chills down, my spine. I woke my wife up in the middle of the night.

And I said, Rihanna listen to this. Listen.

And we laid in bed at 12:30. Thinking and dreaming and planning with helping.

About all that God would do.

Friends again. I don't, I don't know. What God will do in this but the statement, my wife said, when I read her, the verse when I said and both Boats were. He began to sink the statement that she said. Simply the Best. That's what he does.

That's what he does.

He does beyond what we can imagine. He does more than we could ask for, that's what he does. That's what he's done in this place already and that's what we're praying. He'll do in the future, more than we can do more than we can sink. Not for us, not for me, not for you. But for him for his glory, that we would be a part of something that's bigger than ourselves, but to do this friends, we have to step out my face. We have to let down our net. We have to believe that he's able, we have to put all our chips in him and say, God, whatever you want. That's what we want. However, you want to lead us, that's what we want.

So, here we are. Here we are. Launching out by faith. Getting ready to let down our net believing that God could do more. is this at my office on Friday and I was studying for this passage this time, it was Clayton and he came to my office cuz he's a good assistant pastor.

I said, as I'm reading Luke five, you know, where my mind goes.

The end of the Gospel.

Blender Cycles at the bidding of Peter. Go back to their fishing. And they're out on the sea. And they're catching nothing. No, suddenly see this figure shop in the shoreline.

I asked a question. He said, have you caught anything? They said how we've got nothing.

In the figure who is Jesus says, cast your net on the right side of the ship. And who is he speaking to? Peter. Peter and they cast their net on the right side of the ship and when Peter sees it, he doesn't care about the fish. He wants to go see Jesus. The one that he had denied the one that he had abandoned but the one who would call them in the one that he knew would restore him. Jesus uses the same thing that he called, Peter with to bring Peter back into Fellowship, he uses the fishing net. Again, the multitude of fish showing Peter that his life could could accomplish far more in the hands of Christ than it ever could in his own strength in his own power. That's what he taught him and that's what he teaches them in the end of John's gospel. And so Peter twice in his life, at least get to see God do greater things simply by stepping out by faith and it'll be Giants to follow the plan that God has for his life. And he didn't know what would happen either time when he cast in the net, but both times when he can't stand that, God did more than Peter could have imagined. And so today I asked again. The yes we would cast our net by faith but also that that we would continue to cast our net and obedience and then finally this morning that we would cast our net as an act of worship.

Verses 7 through 11.

The scripture goes on his head and they back into their Partners, which work in the other shift that they should come and help them, and they came and filled, both the ship. So they begin to think and Simon, Peter saw it. He fell down at a chief needs thing. Depart from me for, I am a sinful man. Oh, Lord. And he was a astonished and all that were with him at the Draught of the fishes, which were taken. And so was also James and John, the sons of Sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon fear, not from henceforth. Thou shalt catch men. When they brought their ships to land, they forsook off and they followed him. So we're called to let I let down our necks as an act of worship. But what was the response after all this happened to, they have a massive fish fry in the home. Did they have a record day of sales at the fish market? That's not what took place did did Peter boast in himself and say look at what I can do. Look at the number of fish, I can catch, look how amazing I am. None of those things took place, but rather, what happens is that Peter falls to his knees and proclaims his own unworthiness and sinfulness, and he calls. Jesus lord, it's significant that Jesus says that because if we back up in the text, Jesus are Peter says, in verse number 5 and Simon answering said unto him master,

But then, when Simon or Peter recognizes, what Jesus could do he says Lord. Master designate someone as a chief or a supervisor one who is in Authority, a leader or Commander but Lord means one, who is supreme and Authority doesn't just have authority that he saw over these owner that his controller and is Peter recognized in that moment that Jesus was Sovereign over the fish of the sea. Do you know what Peter said? And I want you to be stopping over my life as well, but I want to give you my all so that you can do with it whatever you want. He doesn't call him Master. Just recognizing that he has some Authority. He says, I want you to be my love. And anytime we bow in the presence of Jesus and call him Lord, we're doing exactly what Peter is doing, were recognizing and admitting our own unworthiness and his Worthy. And anytime we do that, it's an act of worship towards the Lord.

Lorde. Depart from he recognized the sinfulness. And Jesus doesn't say in that moment, you're right. It doesn't say, get away from me. You send Fullman. He doesn't say there's nothing I can do with you but but the text continues on. Jesus tells Peter not to fear but understand he's going to have a new life now and that new life is going to be catching men. And I love the way, the story ends that Simon or Peter. And, and the men that were with him, They forsook all. And they followed Jesus.

And you recognize today that you and I will never see all that God wants to do until we first forsake all to follow Jesus. Never. Will get glimpses and glamours and we'll see snapshots of of what God is doing. It sometimes will see another places and will wonder why and it may be the reason why we're not seeing all that God could do and wants to do, is because we haven't fully surrendered Our Lives to him call in Romans chapter 12. Does this have his teacher? I beg you, therefore, Brethren by the mercies of God, that you present, your bodies, a Living Sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. That phrase reasonable service means spiritual worship that when we present Our Lives to the Lord, it is an act of worship. And that's exactly what Peter is doing here. He said, Lord, I recognize I'm sinful in Jesus says Peter, it's okay. If you're not follow me and what is Peter do? He forsake Saul and follows Jesus in it and if this was all we knew, if Peter we could say what that's incredible. But this is all we know of Peter. For the rest of the gospels, in, through the book of Acts in his own writing, as he wrote to the churches. What do we see time and time again, God doing things in Peter's life that Peter never could have accomplished on his own? They preached at Pentecost and thousands of people cut saved. He was instrumental in seeing the church as we know it established and organized. Miss Peter laid down his life recognizing his own sinfulness and the worthiness of Christ. We see that it was an act of worship that he gave himself fully to the Lord. Friends, we can do all the planning we want. We can, we can have all the the things set in motion that we think we need to have.

We can dream. But if it's not done with the spirit of worship, then it's not worth anything.

Christ doesn't need man's best attempts to make the church all that it was intended to be Christ. Needs the leaving man to bow at the feet of the Lord. Is surrender themselves fully to him and when we do that, it is indeed an act of worship.

That's why I would ask you this morning.

Will you let down your nap?

Will you let down your nap?

Maybe you're sitting there thinking, man, this is going to be a lot for you and your family. And you're right.

But if you remember it's not it's not just me and my family that make up the church. It's we that make up the church, it's us collectively that make up the church. It's a my family. We've already talked but we have said, we will let down or not.

We talk to our kids instead kids, this is what we're leaning into this is what we're thinking. And you know. Kids said

Does this mean I get to serve in one service and worship another?

Yeah, that's what it means. It means that you can helping kids ministry or you can help him use it for, you can help in the sound booth. And then you can just participate in church for one of the other services.

Will you let down your net?

Will you choose to be a part of what God is going to do here? Will you step in the water with us by faith and say, we want more? We're believing God for more. We're willing to be exhausted for the sake of the Kingdom. Let's be real, how many other things are? We willing to exhaust ourselves for I would say many other thing. Friends. Let's let's do this for the sake of the Kingdom. Let's go to bed on a Sunday night saying, man, I'm tired, but what a day it was to serve the Lord in every way that he allowed us to serve him.

How will you let down your nap? In the coming weeks, we're going to get into more of a plan. That's how we think God is leading us and what this will look like. But today, as we take in this information, I've got just two questions that I want to close with, there's some guys that are going to hand out some, some things for you this morning. And they're just a little card in this. This was part of the dreaming and scheming at 12:30 on a Friday night. This little card. You have a little piece of net. Last night, my wife sat on the floor for a long time. Cutting these little pieces of net. Will I cut out these cards and we staple them together? And I want everyone to take one of these and I want you to ask yourself through the week, the two questions that are on the card. How will you be involved?

And who will you invite? How will you be involved? Where will you? Jump in? Where will you say? You know what? I'm going to own this ministry. I'm going to do this thing again, talking to Brianna. She said you know what, I'm happy if this is what we're going to do, I'm happy with saying that the early service of the three before class. That's mine every week, every week I'm going to be down there with those three and four-year-olds who are coming to the early service. Hey, this is great for the kids. Why? Because that's great consistency. For those kids that are going to be down there. Secondly, it's just showing a willing heart and I'm not setting my wife up on a pedestal, although I think she deserves to be up there at least in my life but I'm asking you what will you do? What will you say? You know, I can't do it all. But isn't that the saying that I've I've said many times, we're not all hell to do everything but we're all come to do something. But how will you be involved in making this happen and making this work? How will you be involved in committing yourself to do what God wants to do here? How will you be involved in letting down your neck and truthfully? The second part is just as important, if we go to two services and we keep the same amount of people. Then we made a foolish move.

So, the second part of who will you invite?

Who will you for the sake of the Kingdom? Target with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Who will you say your mama to make this person my mission? I'm not going to Badger them. And I'm not going to I'm not going to annoy them but I am afraid for them and I'm going to talk to them when God opens up doors to steps to consider, how will you and be involved? And who will you invite? My my ask is that you take this card, maybe you take the net off of it and put put both things someplace where you'll see them often so that you can remember to pray for that. Mine's going on the dash of my truck. I'm there a lot. I'll see you at often. And I'll remember that God has something before us. That is bigger than ourselves and we need him to do a greater work, but we need to be a part of that work. So, how will you be involved? And who will you invite

Next week we're going to send out a survey. We were going to do it this week but we thought it might be a little overwhelming. We're going to send out a survey asking you a bunch of questions. Getting your input on. What you want to be a part of how you can jump in and serve. And I would ask you to take that seriously. Don't don't see it. Come through your inbox or through a text message and say, you know what, my response doesn't really matter. Friends response absolutely matter. Take it serious and be a part of what we believe God wants to do next as we follow him by faith. Jesus randomly showed up. 2 Peter on that day. Peter was washing his Nets after a long night of fishing. Jesus says, can I borrow your boat? Peter says sure. What he's done teaching. He says Peter push out a little further. I got to show you something.

It is Peter follows by faith. He sees the Lord do the miraculous And friends, I'm praying. I'm praying that the Lord will do the miraculous. But we've got to be all in with kind of be all in and let down our Nets together. If you had a friend and you're staying, man, this was an interesting church service to come to

And you're saved yourself. You're talking about following this Jesus, I don't even know who this Jesus is. You see what makes Jesus so compelling? Is that he has he called Peter to lay or put down his net. Jesus is the one who ultimately put down his dad. By laying down his life. If I have laying down his life all who place their faith in him, can be forgiven of their sins and receive forgiveness, and Hope. A friend before you follow Jesus by faith and taking part in. Things like this, that we talked about this morning, like adding another service or being involved in a church somewhere. The first thing that you need to get straight As whether or not you're a follower of Jesus at all. He laid down his life. Not as a sinner. But as one who is sinless, I need it for those who were sinners. And that's you. And I So that we could be a part of what he is doing so that we could receive forgiveness and eternal life. Will you let down your net? For the unbelievers, those who are investigating. Will you come to Jesus today and receive the gift of eternal life? These offering to you was going to come and meet us in a song? And as he comes, I would ask you to stay on this morning and as we sitting, they are stinging be a response to the goodness of God. They are singing be an Evidence of what we believe about. God, that by faith, we're choosing to follow him. Whatever it looks like, whatever he's leading us. We're just simply choosing to follow him.
