Last year, for Commitment Day 2025, we had the great privilege of partnering with the Church in the Philippines.
/
A small village, Limunsudan had been reached with the Gospel for the first time and the new church plant was meeting under a tarp.
/
A project was pitched to us to provide funding to construct a building for the belivers to meet in and for a presence among the local community.
/
By the time Commitment Day had begun, the church had increased to over 50 new believers, and as we concluded the campaign, over a hundred people had come to saving faith in the life and death of Jesus Christ, and were baptised into the Church.
/
This year, another opportunity awaits for us to partner with a church planting project in Mig-pah-it, another village just down the road from Limunsudan.
/
It is the last village in the region to have an established church and it is an exciting moment to partner with the local pastors, evangelists and believers who have long been in prayer for their neighbours.
/
A block of land has already been purchased in the village, our goal of $20,000.00 will contribute to the construction of a new structure in collaboration with the local church.
/
This is a partnership, built on years of friendship. Our prayer is to see a greater move of God among the Churches close to our heart.
/
The same prayer is for our next project, continued support of the work of the Church in Zimbabwe, for which we are hoping to raise an additional $17,000.00.
/
Part of these funds will cover the wage of Pastor Jafeta Sibanda for an additional two years. We have supported Jafeta for many years now and receive frequent updates of his labour for the Gospel. Pastor Jafeta was recently tasked with taking on a new project of church revitalisation, in the village of Chivi, which had been in decline.
/
Since then, he has taken on an additional church in the same circuit and has seen growth in both churches. This year along they churches have witnessed several new salvations and baptisms.
/
Our finanical support will also cover the purchase of a new motorbike for the network. The roads in Zimbabwe are rugged and it is often difficult to traverse the journey from village to village. A motorbike allows a pastor or evangelist to faithfully preach the word of God across the multiple churches and villages entrusted to them.
/
And finally, the remaing funds to Zimbabwe will go toward another water bore. The access to fresh water frequently leads to economic revival, elevating the local populace out of poverty, as it opens the door to new means of income. Often, the hope brought by access to fresh water coincides with the out pouring of Living Water, the saving grace of Jesus Christ, through the work of the local church.
/
The Letters to the Early Church, found in the New Testament, often reminds us to remember our brothers and sisters and also the poor- what a blessing it is do both.
/
God has greatly blessed us all. To live and serve alongside each other here at Whitehill. To worship together in a building resourced on the generosity of generations gone. We hope to give generously then out of the great abundance that He has first has given us.
/
We long to see a greater move of God across His Church. A greater renewal of heart and mind. A greater revival of the lost and prodigal. How great it is that God can take the meager offerings of His Church, which may only finance the construction of buildings or purchase of motorbikes, but use them to fan the flames of the Gospel.
/
We believe that a greater harvest is yet to come, all to the glory of Christ Jesus, throughout all generations, in all places, forever and ever. Amen.
