Introduction
Introduction
Submission in its biblical sense means voluntarily placing oneself under the authority, order, or direction of another, with an attitude of humility, respect, and obedience.
Literally, the idea is "to place or arrange under."
The English word submission carries the idea of:
-yielding to authority
-placing oneself under another's authority
-accepting direction or correction
-voluntarily giving up one's own insistence
-recognizing and respecting proper order
-voluntarily place oneself under an established order
-Biblical submission is not inferiority. It is primarily about order and relationship to authority.
Submission and your ability to receive correction is your key to deliverance
Rebellion is the cause of Christians with demons
Rebellion is why Christians are delayed
May start a series. Leadership skills. Time to move out of milk and into maturity.
You CANNOT be an effective leader that endures without this.
Family, Work, Business, or Ministry
Fatherhood & Sonship
Fatherhood & Sonship
Intro to sonship, and remaining in the location God has called you.
Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord.
I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you. For though ye have ten thousand instructors in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
So easy today to be an orphan.
God is your Father but there is a structure/order on earth because God operates through man.
Cannot keep uprooting yourself from mentor to mentor. Tree. You must be fathered. Sheep need a sheperd. Orphans, vegabonds, wanderers.
Paul > Titus
John > Church
Peter > Mark
Elijah > Elisha
Moses > Joshua
Saul > David
Your earthly father will rarely also be your spiritual father.
Jesus said to her, “Do not cling to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren and say to them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, and to My God and your God.’ ”
I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ And to the south, ‘Do not keep them back!’ Bring My sons from afar, And My daughters from the ends of the earth—
The church has been given to train you up so you can go out there and fulfill your assignment.
for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting.
Spiritual Authority
Spiritual Authority
Submission to spiritual authorities is your protection.
Elijah > Elisha
Elisha walked into destiny because he know how to submit to spiritual authority and keep a culture of honour.
Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you.
We need GODLY authority in our lives. We need accountability. Or wolves can deceive you. Geor Davie
Human nature is rebellious. My myself and I.
Satan didn’t want to submit. He wanted to rule in God’s place.
When you cannot submit to authority you act like Satan.
Bondservants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh, not with eyeservice, as men-pleasers, but in sincerity of heart, fearing God. And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men,
This isn’t even employees and bosses this is slaves and their owners.
EVERYONE has to submit to SOMEONE. Family, work, ministry etc.
LEADERS need LEADERS. We believe in accountability. I submit more now.
This is why we have a lot of issues in the church. There is not enough submission and accountability.
If a leader is living in sin they need to be sat down and restored. Galatians 6:1 AMP
Whole revivals came to an end because even generals of the faith seperated from their voice of accountability.
Correction
Correction
Correction comes back to sonship.
And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons. Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Correction is God’s love revealed.
It is His Fatherhood revealed.
Correction is connected to your value as a son/daughter.
God cannot promote somone who cannot be taught.
Your character sustains the anointing on your life. Without it you will crumble under the weight of the call.
Be the wise man who is open to correction. Talking back, always defensive, prideful, you shut yourself off from someone being able to correct you.
Sometimes your leaders can see things you cannot see.
YOU WILL NOT CONFRONT AND CORRECT WHO YOU DO NOT VALUE
Your promotion can be wrapped up in your location and the people who surround you.
Joshua was wrapped up in Moses etc...
My Story
LEADERS MAKE MISTAKES TOO- Todd White We often give yourselves a lot of grace but when it comes to leaders we give not grace at all.
Do not receive accusation against and elder without 2-3 witnesses
Saul > David
David never exposed Saul. God did. Exosure may need to happen but this is why we need accountability.
Saul was required for David’s process. David had to suffer and past the test of offense.
BRETHREN, IF any person is overtaken in misconduct or sin of any sort, you who are spiritual [who are responsive to and controlled by the Spirit] should set him right and restore and reinstate him, without any sense of superiority and with all gentleness, keeping an attentive eye on yourself, lest you should be tempted also.
Biblical process for handling/confronting sin and restoring in the church. Doesn’t mean you go blast your Pastor on Youtube.
YOU SHOULD BE IN TEARS OF THANKFULNESS WHEN YOU GET CORRECTED.
IT WILL ALL BE WORTH IT. EVERY CORRECTION, EVERY TRIAL, EVERY HARDSHIP, AND EVERY LEARNING EXPERIENCE. WHEN YOU HEAR WELL DONE GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT.
