Two Are Better Than One

I) Introduction

Drove by a bar last night, made the statement “the bar is full, but the church is empty”

The person I was with said “because in the bar you are not judged”

WOW - that hit me like a ton of bricks

We need togetherness more now than ever

Two are better than one!

Because man can raise up another when the fall

ADAM and EVE

God said “it is not good for man to be alone”

It is absolutely necessary for us to be around others

The 1st Christians constantly communed with each other

II) Mutual Correcting (V. 9-10)

Restoring each other after a spiritual fall.

we are all frail, and will FALL

we need other to lift each other up!

MANY will fall intentionally

We are told to “Take heed lest we fall”

the assembly of those who are in our faith circle are there to lift us up!

III) Mutual Encouragement

(V. 11)

If a coal fall from the charcoal pile it soon goes out!

but if it stays with the rest, they feed off each other!

We need each other for our faith and encouragement

that's why God gave us each other!

IV) Mutual Defense (V. 12)

Satan is everywhere

he is in our everyday lives

trying to destroy our relationship with Christ

he attacks constantly

we need each other to defend against Satan and the World.
