Scriptural Text:
Last Sunday we reasoned from vv.1-4, that we as believers we should be a person of integrity-live above reproach (be blameless).
We learn that compromise is to make concessions or accommodations for someone who does not agree with a prevalent set of standards or rules. With this understanding the Bible makes it clear that God does not condone compromising His standards.
In conclusion, it was summarized that we can all get along if we don’t compromise God’s standard by doing the following:
(1) Obey God’s Word in our daily lives (2) Seek God wholeheartedly (3) Stay separate from evil and evildoers, refusing to compromise our behavior in any way (4) Obey God’s Word fully and consistently, doing our very best to live in such away that no one can find fault in us

Thus, for our sake of reasoning for the second part of this message we will examine vv.5-8 with the central theme “Be steadfast and consistent in obeying all of God’s commands (vv. 5-8)”.
Be steadfast and consistent in obeying all of God’s commands (vv. 5-8).

Devotion to Church
Several preachers have told of a deaf member of a church and a rather typical-minded American churchman who asked, “Why do you come to church each Sunday when you cannot hear the service?” The humble man replied, “I come each week to let people know which side I am on.”

The psalmist expressed the earnest desire of his heart: he yearned to be directed or steadfast in obeying God’s commands (v. 5). Directed (kuhn) means established, steadfast, fully committed.

The blessings brought about by walking in complete obedience to God’s holy Word:
(a) Will prevent feelings of guilt and shame (v. 6).
(a) Will prevent feelings of guilt and shame (v. 6).
When we slip don’t worry about it, don’t pay attention to people scorn, or what they say bad about you.
(b) Will stir you to praise God as you learn to live righteously, according to His laws (v. 7).
(b) Will stir you to praise God as you learn to live righteously, according to His laws (v. 7).
Steadfast obedience to all of God’s commands would set you free from the feelings of guilt and shame that accompany sinning.

You must longed to praise God with uprightness (yosher) of heart, with sincerity and purity. You must be committed to learning God’s commands so that you could live righteously. Living according to God’s laws would stir you to praise the Lord more fervently than ever before, because nothing in his heart would keepyou from exalting God fully.

(c) Will give assurance of God’s constant presence and care (v. 8).

We are in desperate need of God’s help from day to day. sin in our life would create a barrier between us and God, that when we cried out to God for help, the Lord would not hear our prayers (, ; ; ). We don’t want to live without the joy, peace, and power that come from God’s presence. Are fear that God might lift His hand of protection from us. Therefore like the Psalmist, he begged God not to forsake him because of his failure to walk in total obedience to His Word ().
.
“Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect” ().
“Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen” ().
“Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day” ().
“I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart” ().

Therefore we believers:
(NKJV) 58Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
