In Luke 10:38–42, Martha is distracted by many tasks while Mary sits attentively at the feet of Jesus. Through their story, Jesus tenderly reminds us that one thing is necessary: receiving from and enjoying Him. When our hearts become distracted, anxious, and overwhelmed, Christ invites us to sit at His feet, receive His Word, rest in the gospel, and then serve from the fullness only He can provide.
