Isaiah 9:6–7 NKJV
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.

Ends with Isaiah 66:22 ““For as the new heavens and the new earth Which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, “So shall your descendants and your name remain.”

I. The Two Natures of Christ

a. Christ’s Humanity

Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son… ”
Luke 1 tells us of the Angel visiting Mary
Matthew 1:22–23 “22 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: 23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, …””
Christ was born.
He took on flesh.
He thirsted, was hungry, wept!

b. Christ’s Deity

Isaiah 9:6–7 NKJV
Unto us a Son is given
Jesus referred to Himself as the Son of Man.
Isaiah 7:14 “14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.”
Daniel 7:13–14 “13 “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, Coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, And they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom, That all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, Which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one Which shall not be destroyed.”

c. Christ’s Sovereignty

Isaiah 9:6 “… the government will be upon His shoulder… ”
Isaiah 6:1 “1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple.”
Revelation 1:13 “13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band.”
Daniel 2:31-45
Isaiah 2:2-3

II. Christ’s Royal Kingdom is Revealed.

a. Wonderful Counselor

Bertrand Russell, Richard Dawkins, and Julian Baggini, all atheists, talk about the good moral teachings.
Every situation.
Every occasion

b. Mighty God

Isaiah 10:21 “21 The remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, To the Mighty God.”
Isaiah 7:14 “… shall call His name Immanuel.”
Matthew 1:23 “23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.””

c. Father of Eternity

John 1:1 “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
From eternity to eternity, thou art God.
Revelation - I am the Alpha and the Omega

d. Prince of Peace

Luke 2:14 “14 “Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!””
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 16:33 “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””

Future hope of peace in the Future Kingdom of Christ.
Isaiah 11:6–9 “6 “The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, The leopard shall lie down with the young goat, The calf and the young lion and the fatling together; And a little child shall lead them. 7 The cow and the bear shall graze; Their young ones shall lie down together; And the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. 9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea.”
Isaiah 65:25 “25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, The lion shall eat straw like the ox, And dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,” Says the Lord.”
