Jesus had no belief in their belief. He had no faith in their faith!

What is in a Man?

So why didn’t Jesus believe in their belief?

What is in a Man?

To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled.
Romans 8:8 NKJV
So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.

James 3:2 NKJV
For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body.

Humanity is ruined, desolate, wicked, selfish, and full of hatred. Why would Jesus put His faith in our faith?

What are the characteristics of this bogus faith?

Their faith is an intellectual faith. This type of faith does not save.

Intellectual belief in Jesus alone does not mean you are saved.

James 2:19 NKJV
You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
James

Their faith was built on the comforts Jesus could offer.

John 6:2 NKJV
Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.
Matthew 13:20–22 NKJV
But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.
Matthew 13:20 NKJV
But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy;
John 6:66 NKJV

There is an eternal difference in a fraudulent faith and saving faith.

There is an eternal difference in a fraudulent faith and saving faith.

John 6:2 NKJV
Then a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His signs which He performed on those who were diseased.

Matthew 16:24–26 NKJV
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
Matthew
