Greetings…
We continue our series on “I Want To Go To Heaven” and be with God forever this morning.
As we remain steadfast in our endeavor to created and keep our confidence in us being with our God for all of eternity one day.
Last week we focused our attention on why God’s wisdom should give us confidence and desire to be with him forever more.
Because God designed our salvation in his wisdom.
Because God’s wisdom is displayed at the cross.
Because God’s wisdom guarantees our inheritance.
This morning, we are going to be focusing on “God’s Joy.”
God the Father, Son, and Spirit all certainly have “emotions.”
God can grieve.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
God can get angry.
11 God is a righteous judge, and a God who feels indignation every day.
God can have compassion.
36 For the Lord will vindicate his people and have compassion on his servants, when he sees that their power is gone and there is none remaining, bond or free.
One of those emotions, is that of joy.
Today, we are going to take a moment and hopefully be reminded of why God’s joy, should encourage us and give us confidence in our hope in eternity.
I want to go to heaven and be with my God forever because of God’s joy…

God Rejoices Over Us Being With Him
God Rejoices Over Us Being With Him
God is not reluctant to have us with him for all of eternity.
Have you ever felt like the “third wheel” when you are with someone?
Like you are only there because they felt bad for you, or had pity on you?
That is not the case with God.
17 The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
3 So he told them this parable: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it?
5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’
7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance. 8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and seek diligently until she finds it?
9 And when she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ 10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”
20 And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
23 And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. 24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.

This joy is not just for us while we are here on earth.
No, this joy is for us at our death and at our eternity with God.
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
I want to go to heaven and be with God forever because God’s joy in us is ultimately found in us dwelling with him.
He wants us with him and rejoices, has great joy at the thought of us spending all of eternity with him.

This life, our home on this earth, can certainly have its challenges and difficulties.
33 I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

However, heaven is where God’s abode is, it is where his home is and because of that, the atmosphere of heaven is “joy.”
11 You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
6 For you make him most blessed forever; you make him glad with the joy of your presence.

I want to go to heaven, and I hope you do to, because heaven is the place where the joy of God can be experienced by us without interruption, limitation, or any mixture of sorrow.

6 And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Summary
I want to go to heaven and be with my God forever, because he has not left me or you to finish this race on our own.
He is working with us, to prepare us, for an eternity with him, because there is no more joy found within God than when we get to be with him for all of eternity.

Brethren, God’s joy is dwelling with you and I forever.
His love has demonstrated this joy he has for us, and wants to share with us.
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
