Opening Question

What chore do you wish you had a Robot to do for you?

Recap of last week.

Work was Created by God and it was good
Work was Created before the Fall
Work was given to Adam
Work in the garden was fun - probably felt more like play than work.
Work isn’t like that today - it is hard, hot, heavy, dirty, painful
Do you know why?

Sin Messed up What God made Good

What happened when sin entered the world?
Genesis 3:1-7

Sin has Consequences

Snake - crawl on belly
Woman & Man - Couldn’t stay in garden, separated from God,
Man - Ground was cursed
Painful Labor
Thorns and Prickly Weeds
hard, sweaty work

Sin and its Consequences have been defeated by Jesus

Genesis 3:15 - first prophecy about Jesus
1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2 Corinthians 5:21 “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.”
2 Corinthians 5:15 “and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”
Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:23 “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,”
