Is God Good? (2)

I want you guys to think about something.

It is really easy to say “God is good” when everything is going well.

You made the team. Your family is getting along. You have good friends. You prayed about something, and God answered the way you hoped.

But what about when life isn't going well?

What if you don't make the team?

What if your parents are fighting?

What if your best friend suddenly doesn't want to be your friend anymore?

What if you pray and pray about something—and nothing seems to change?

Is God still good then?

That's a much harder question.

Sometimes we can accidentally start believing that God's goodness depends on what is happening to us:

Good things happening = God is good. Bad things happening = Where is God?

But the Bible gives us a very different picture.

Today I want us to learn one big truth:

God's goodness does not change when our circumstances do.
