1. Joy in Trials
1. Joy in Trials
Jas 1:2-4
You could explore how trials are not just hardships but opportunities for joy because they test our faith, producing perseverance. This connects with Christ, who endured trials for our redemption. As we face challenges, let us mirror that perseverance and grow into maturity, relying on His strength.
This is somethings that is easy to say on the surface. That you can have Joy in the midst of Trials. That is a very blanket statement. You can say you do not understand. It is so hard, I am on the brink of giving up. I not here to say your circumstances will get easier. This will help guide you through whatever circumstance you are in.
One way is to change your attitude. You may say chance your attitude what does that even mean.
Talk about UVF and Chapels that would happen Tuesday through Friday. Would take up an hour of time. I would help spiritually guide the Baseball team. Now I am not saying that the baseball team was my trial for this illustration but it was their reaction to Chapel. They disliked chapel. Their heart attitudes were negative about it. Their hatred for chapel blinded them from what they could gain
2. Wisdom in Trials
2. Wisdom in Trials
Jas 1:5-8
Perhaps discuss the need for divine wisdom to navigate trials. This contrasts our doubt with unwavering faith, connecting to Christ who unfalteringly relied on God's wisdom. We too can seek this wisdom during hardships, ensuring our faith remains steadfast and grows as a result.
Our only way to grow is when we are stretched and go through trials. As much as I wish it was as soon as we asked we are changed. That is not how it works. But that is ultimately for our benefit. You may be Questioning how. One way is that God was to be in relationship with us. If whenever we just ask for something and it is granted there is no relationship building . Our hearts get focused on the Gifts instead of the giver. Now I want you to think about friendships and relationships. When you have a partner some may say bo, there is the honeymoon phase in the beginning where you are seeing all the good qualities but that is just a surface relationship. You relationship doesn't grow until it hits a rough patch. Where you are seeing each others flaws and you come together and help each other. That is were the growth of the relationship is. Not when things are easy but when things are hard and pushing through together. Now I want you to think about coworkers or college students that you have started at the same time with. IDK about you but they tend to be your closest friends. Why is that. It is because you are facing similar trials and it brings people together when they can relate. God wants to be with you while you are in the midst of the trail and it is done to grow your relationship with one another.
This is saying that was should ask for what we lack. We should be seeking for more wisdom, patience, Strength and faith. When we ask those things these trials will come. When we should ask we shouldnt doubt Gods ability to get us through. God is trying to instill perseverance. How much you trust him. Being in the Assemblies of God something that a lot of us ask for is the spitual gift of Speaking in tongues. There have been countless stories I have heard from friends and I have encountered myself. That we sought the gifts of tounges and when God let us have the ability to have Tounges we would stuggle with following through. Not because God hasnt allowed the gift but because we were too busy doubting if it was the gift. Thinking is this feeling of you God or am I manifesting this because I want the gift. We doubt a lot

3. Humility in Trials
3. Humility in Trials
Jas 1:9-11
Maybe reflect on earthly wealth versus spiritual richness gained through trials. Consider how Jesus embodied humility amidst suffering. By focusing on spiritual prosperity, we gain perspective that trials refine our faith and character, allowing us to grow closer to Christ's example.
We see this is talking about how we can boast in the midst of our trials. That we should boast because we are in the trial. That it is so much greater than the wealthy people of this earth. Who are not struggling. This is a look into the upside down kingdom. God doesnt want or need the wealthiest people. He wants the people who need him. I like to think about how the Lord will dicipline the one who he loves. That is Love. to allow someone to grow. It is not aloowing people to continue the same on the wrong path but it to correct and to shape them. We can be joyful in the trials because the God of the univcerce who made you is continuing to shape and mold you. When we lose everything we gain the eternal kingdom whereas the things of this earth will eventually die.
Now this point is called humility in trials. This is because we can’t do this on our own. We do not have the strength within ourselves to be able to continue on. We need the help of the Holy Spirit to preserver. The only way that we can gain the strength to preserver is by spending time in prayer and Gods presence. To Abide in Him to remain
4. Victory in Trials
4. Victory in Trials
Jas 1:12-15
Consider how temptation can accompany trials, proposing that resisting these temptations leads to the 'crown of life'. This reflects Christ's victory over sin. As believers stand firm, they not only endure trials but triumph over temptation, growing in spiritual maturity and Christlikeness.
Now I want you to chance what you have your eyes on in the midst of the trial. where your eyes are, is where you will go. When you are in the Trial. Your eyes can be on multiple different things. It can be on the trial itself, It can be getting out of the trial itself, or it can be on What God has for you.

Sin is to miss the mark
Since God is Good, The plans he has are Good. Then everything outside of what he has planned is evil.
When you are thinking about how you want to get out of this trial as soon as possible you will be missing out on the development that God has for you. it our minds this is not inharently an evil desire. We just want to get where we are comfortable but that is the evil desire, We can focus on our own comfortablility in the midst of the trails. What may that be. That is when we go to our own vices to ease the pain of the trial. For some people it is alcohol. They are trying to drink away the pain for other people it is taking themselves out of community, for others it is to wear more revealing clothings so they can feel temporary satisfaction. It can be turning to food to help us with our stress. When we do this we are missing what God has for us but it is slowing killing us. It is making the trial worse. the only way we can victory in the midst of trials is by keeping our eyes on Jesus
5. Good Gifts in Trials
5. Good Gifts in Trials

You could conclude by emphasizing the nature of God as the giver of good gifts, including those learned through trials. Connecting to Christ, God's ultimate gift, reminds us that trials transform us into His likeness. Embrace these challenges as avenues for spiritual growth and deeper faith.
