Evangelism as We Go
Evangelism as We Go
Mark 16:15 “Then he said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
In the Gospel of Mark, the Greek word euthùs, meaning “immediately,” appears about 40 times.
The use of this word throughout Mark’s gospel highlights Jesus’s quick and constant action and involvement in human lives, whether it be in times of crisis or in moments of calm.
In Mark 16:15, Jesus gave the disciples who experienced Him as a man of action and as God the Great Commission, and this same commission applies to us today.
Whether we are in moments of calm, like this beautiful Saturday morning scheduled outreach, in a moment of crisis on the job, or in our sometimes mundane routine of grocery store and doctor's office visits, may our heart and mind have a focus on being actively involved in the work of evangelism, planting the seeds of the gospel in the lives of those around us.
May we be stirred to be involved in the work of evangelism as we go throughout our day-to-day lives, seeing the need to spread the gospel as immediate, not as something we can put off in the hopes of another opportunity in the future, or for another person to be sent in our place.
Let’s ask ourselves today: How can we be more aware of the immediate need to share the gospel with those around us? Let’s do our part whether through a tract, sharing verbally, living it out in our lives more boldly and clearly, or all three.
Let’s Pray.
