Story:

Problem: Discipleship is a lot harder to do in this generation compared to generations prior.
we live in a world where in church we have:
convert, worker, disciple. the phases of discipleship
the problem is that during the times of Jesus and the times of Acts, they saw
God didn’t call us to make just converts, he called us to make disciples of himself.

What is a disciple?

A disciple simply means a student. but when you hear the word student, there’s a picture that pops into your head when we are a student at our highscool or college and then there’s a teacher or professor who is learnin
The problem:
The world has their definition
byproduct:
The culture has their own definition
byproduct:
Churches have their own definition
byproduct
Worst case scenario, the enemy will taint the very thing that God called us to be.
Best case scenario, the enemy will make it taboo in a church or we dodge the term for another term that doesn’t have the full meaning or settle for an incomplete version of discipleship. and as a byproduct we are making followers and not disciples.
The Solution: What does God say about making disciples?

Why do we make disciples?

How do we make disciples?

the Problem:
It was manipulative and controlling which is not discipleship, that’s manipulation.
Watered down and not considered as discipling at all, that’s a therepy session over a cup of coffee.
The Solution:
Doing it the biblical way:
How did Jesus disciple
How did Paul disciple
It’s time to make his last commandment our first priority. (2819 Quote)
