A Divine Gift: The Blessing of Children

Bible Passage: 1 Samuel 1:27

1 Samuel 1:27 “I prayed for this boy, and Yahweh has given me my request that I asked from him.”
We know the story of Hannah in the bibile, how she was looking for a Child and then prayed to go God, her prayers where answered and she showed graditued to God by dedicating the Boy Samuel to the Lord.
God gives generiously when we ask, as the bible said that we should ask and we will recieve.
Proverbs 22:6 “Train the child concerning his way; even when he is old, he will not stray from it.”
Proverbs 22:6 KJV 1900
Train up a child in the way he should go: And when he is old, he will not depart from it.
We need as parents to take care of our children bring them up in the way of the Lord so that when they are grown they will not depart from what has been thought.
Psalm 127:3 “Look, children are the heritage of Yahweh; the fruit of the womb is a reward.”
Blessing from the Lord.
God has given these children to us, not as a bouden, but as a blessing.
we are stewards of these children.
Never give up on them as they group up.
Let me encourage anyone here today, who is struggling with bring up their sons/ daughter, never give up.
Children will always have their moments,
but when we reflect on How God loves us and gave is only begotten son to come and provide that acceptable sacrifices that can only save mankind.
We as parents should then be ready to open our hands and also recieve them when they step out of line.
Children are very valuable in the sight of God.
Jesus show how spiritually significance children are
Matthew 18:1–5 “At that time the disciples came up to Jesus, saying, “Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling a child to himself, he had him stand in their midst and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you turn around and become like young children, you will never enter into the kingdom of heaven! Therefore whoever humbles himself like this child, this person is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven, and whoever welcomes one child such as this in my name welcomes me.”
Matthew 18:1–5 ASV
In that hour came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And he called to him a little child, and set him in the midst of them, and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye turn, and become as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me:
Jesus is asking every parent today to show love, teach your children the way of the Lord.
They are like an arrow in our hands,
Psalm 127:4–5 “Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them. They shall not be put to shame when they speak with enemies at the gate.”
God is asking you to raise these children and aim them towards a purpose in life so that they can have a meaningful impact in their society.
Raising up children as a family should give parents pride as we mode them to reflect God Character.
They will one day make you proud and protect your familys reputation where ever they go.
Conclusion :
Matthew 19:14 “But Jesus said, “Allow the children, and do not forbid them to come to me, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.””
Matthew 19:14 LEB
But Jesus said, “Allow the children, and do not forbid them to come to me, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”
As a family church, we have responsiblity as well to nuture these children.
We should not see them as distraction or standing in our ways.
They are to be a lasting blessing and legacy for our church and communities.
