Introduciton
Good morning church.
It really is a joy to be back with you today.
I am exctied about opening up the book of psalms this morning.
Thank for praying for us on sabbitical.
It was truly an increadible time where we could rest and here the voice of the Lord more clearly.
There was a lot of rest but but one of the neatest things we did was take a visit to Chicago to visit our family.
we did the normal chicago things ate great pizza, saw the sights and even went to a cubs game which was absoutly increadible.
When asking our daughters what they thought they were 2 very differnet opions
Anna our oldest said she loved it, she loved the baseball game, liked the pizza, thought the muesums and buildings were increeadible.
and she just loved being in a big city
Ellie our youngest liked the Zoo and asked to go there everyday but outside of that she didn’t really care for chicago.
When we asked her what she thought she simply said.....to crowded, to much walking and she wanted to know when we could go home to ?
and it’s funny because I think we can all relate to that. 2 different people looking at the same situation in comletly different ways.
and as we open up to psalm 1 what we see is a descrption of how 2 people who live, live very different livs.

It’s interesting the book of psalms starts with pronouncment of blessing for those who have respond to God
Placing this at the beginning of Psalms is so significant becasue it both invites and encourages God’s people to live godly lives.
In fact some have said that sets the tone for what is to come in the rest of the psalms.
The first thing we see
