The Book of Acts is the account of the Church continuing the work started by the Son of God by the indwelling power of the Spirit of God all for the glory of God.
Acts 2:14-41

Peter gives the explanation for the miracle - the Holy Spirit.

14-21
He basically tells them, hey, we’re not drunk, we’re filled with the Holy Spirit. AND?! This is something that God said He was going to do. So, as you all have been hearing us proclaim God, in your own languages. Just know, this is something that GOD is doing.
But you have to understand that this confused the people. They knew that God’s Holy Spirit would come upon people - the Old Testament was full of that. But God had never poured out His Spirit on so many people at once.
This would have been confusing to the people, who really had never even heard of something on this scale happening.

Peter explains the timing of the miracle - the resurrection.

22-32
He says, nobody really asked me nothin. But here you go anyway - Y’all killed Jesus. BUT GOD raised Him back up to life!!!
The Connection.
33 - 35
And then Peter makes the connection, and ties it allll back into what was going on.
And he’s connecting these dots for them. And he’s saying, YES this is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit the likes of which you’ve never SEEN, but you have heard about.
And YES this is the doing of Jesus - His death and resurrection were the events that LEAD to this
And the evidence…..is right there. The evidence that this is the work of God, that this is the continuing work of Christ, and that this is the New working of the Holy Spirit. It’s right there in front of their faces, because they had all…..just…..heard the words of the disciples in their own language.

Peter explains the reason for the miracle - salvation.

36-39
And then Peter lays it on them. And he says, and yea, that’s the guy you killed. You killed the very Messiah, the promised one. The one we’ve been WAITING for; you killed Him. But God raised Him back up to life.
In this moment these people are confronted with the worst news ever. We are the BAD GUYS! We’re the villains!
That same transforming power that was at work in them, the Holy Spirit, is now at work in each and every one of you too.
