Second Goal: To Train Them To Serve Him.
What I want to share with you tonight is about choices.
Life is full of choices and decisions...
as simple as what are you going wear tomorrow for school
to a little harder: what are you going to do when you grow up?
And those decisions don’t really have a right or wrong answer to them.
But there are a lot of decisions that we have to make in life that are right and wrong, good and bad.
Simple example: shout out which is the better answer:
Which way do you think is the best the follow?
A lie or the truth?
The world or the Bible?
Satan or God’s?
God wants to help us make good choices in life.
What happens when we make bad choices?
Get in trouble...
Sometimes when we do things our own way we get a broken heart.
Those bad choices are what we would call sin, and all sin does is break hearts.
It definitely breaks God’s heart.
And who can we turn to for help to make good choices?
Parents, teachers, pastors, friends, God.
And if we follow God’s ways, He can fix our hearts because His way is better.
Your Way’s Better
What has God given us to help us make good choices? Bible
The Bible tells us that the best choice we can make is to believe in Him and the Good News about Jesus.
2 Tim 3:15
This is why we do AWANA
We want you to know the Bible from childhood.
We pray that as you learn the Bible God gives you what you need to understand so that you can find salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
God So Loved The World
Only God can heal our hearts and forgive us of our sins.
After Accepting Jesus by faith into your hearts.
God begins the healing process.
John 17:17
This is one reason why we spend so much time talking about the Bible.
It’s why we memorize verses from the Bible.
Each verse of truth we learn from the Bible we can use like a sword to cut down the lies of Satan.
Heb 4:12
And the Word of God guides us and helps us make those good decisions.
Psalm 119:105
So my challenge to you for this year: Learn as much from the Bible as you can. It won’t lead you astray.
In closing, let’s say the pledge to the Bible together.
