First mentioned in the Bible

He is the supreme being and creator of the universe. Anything that has ever been made or will be made is because of him.

John 1:3 “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.”

First place is where he demands to be in a Christians life.

Exodus 20:3–5 “Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”

Attributes of God

He is omniscient - knows everything

Omnipotent (All Powerful)

Omnipresent (Present everywhere at the same time)

He doesn’t change

Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not; Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

He doesn’t lie

Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that he should lie; Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and shall he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?”

Isaiah 40:12 “Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, And meted out heaven with the span, And comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, And weighed the mountains in scales, And the hills in a balance?”

Nahum 1:3 “The Lord is slow to anger, and great in power, And will not at all acquit the wicked: The Lord hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, And the clouds are the dust of his feet.”
