Observant
Builds off of decisive and knowledgable
This happens a lot in the character traits. So many are interlinked, but I believe by design. It is so you can focus on small parts that help with a bigger concept
Observant: Foreseeing and responding correctly and alertly to any situation.
Blindfolded Dodgeball
Blindfolded Dodgeball
Active Dancer
Say: "Notice what they are doing: they are working ten times harder, burning all their energy guessing where the danger is, and relying on pure luck. That’s exhausting, right?"
Say: "And here's the spiritual truth: when you’re spiritually blind to what's around you, life becomes pure chaos. You're constantly dodging, ducking, and reacting to problems after they've already been thrown at you. Being observant isn't about wild guessing—it's about opening your eyes so you don't have to stress."
Freezer
Say: "When you can't see what’s coming at you, freeze-mode is natural. You feel defenseless, paralyzed, and completely at the mercy of whatever gets thrown your way. That’s what navigating life blind looks like—you just stand there waiting to get hit."
Throw afterward
What changed? Their physical ability didn't change; their awareness did. Being unobservant in life is like walking through a minefield with a blindfold on. Today, we're talking about what it means to be
Observant: Foreseeing and responding correctly and alertly to any situation.
Min 3:00–7:00 | Section 1: The Trap of Being Un alert:
Scripture Focus: Mark 14:38 “Stay awake and pray so that you won’t enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
This was Jesus speaking in the night when he was betrayed. He asked his disciples to stay awake and pray while he went to be alone and talk to God his father and time and time again, he would return and they were asleep. This shows you that even though you really want to do something, and you know how to do something, there are limitations to our bodies. We are weak. We get tired, hungry, anxious, mad.. all these things stop us from doing what is right.
Let me show you.
The Game: "Battle of the Brain vs. The Body"
This game physically demonstrates what it feels like when "the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Level 1: Pat your head with your right hand while rubbing your belly in a circle with your left hand.
Level 2: Tap your right foot rapidly while tracing a figure-8 in the air with your left index finger
Level 3 (The Impossible Level): Stand up, march your feet fast, but wave your arms in extreme slow motion while winking one eye.
The Twist: While they struggle to do it, the stage leader narrates:
"Your brain KNOWS what to do! Your brain WANTS to do it! But why aren't your hands following directions? Because your body is disobeying your mind!"
The 60-Second Lesson Connection
The Solution (Stay Awake & Pray): How do you train your body to obey God? Jesus gave us the cheat code in Mark 14:38: Stay awake and pray. Prayer is how we ask God for the strength our bodies don't have on their own.
But why!!!!
But why!!!!
1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober-minded, be alert. Your adversary the devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.”
How a lion hunts
Head Up: Look around you daily. Who in your school or friend group needs encouragement or help right now?
Eyes Ahead: Keep your long-term integrity in sight. Ask yourself: "Where will this choice lead me 6 months from now?"
Heart Awake: Spend 2 minutes every morning in prayer asking God: "Lord, keep my eyes open today."
Closing Prayer:"Father, give us eyes that see and hearts that respond. Wake us up from spiritual distraction. Help us stay alert, foresee danger, and walk with fixed focus on You. Amen."
