Not only did God create all of life, he makes a way for us to live through Jesus.
How often to we talk about the Bible and how great it is, but in our personal life we leave it in the closet, never open it, and use it ourselves.
The Problem: We don’t want to submit to God.
We want to be in charge.
Today 1 in 5 American church goers actually read the Bible more than once week.
And 1 in 5 never read the Bible.

God’s love for you should create a desire in you to be reading and applying his word to your life.

If you are surrounded by darkness long enough you lose all sense of direction
God loves you enough to offer direction for the course of your life that can lead you our of darkness
The Bible doesn’t just offer good advice, it’s God’s advice, the one who created you, he offers the best way to live
The entire course of your life hinges on who has authority in your life

Correction
Is there room in your life for correction?
And what does God’s Word bring correction to?
Do we love God first?
Do we love others as ourselves?
Do we have sin that needs to be addressed?
Nobody likes being disciplined, but it is all about correcting or changing a behavior that is harmfu to the individual
It corrects us when we are wrong
When you were a kid your parents probably taught you to obey their voice.
It leads us to life
Discipline is ultimately an act of love
It is God’s initiative toward relationship with man
What are things in our lives that God brings correction to:
Are we loving?
Do we respect others?
Are we caught up in sin and destructive behavior?
It prepares us
Preparation
How do we practically use the Bible?

The Bible is not a rule book it is a book of hope
God wants to prepare you for the life that he has for you
Only when you yield to the Word of God will you be prepared for lifes journey
God’s word points you ultimately to Jesus
The greatest success in your life will be found when you submit to God’s authority and the love he has for you
