On the Road to Emmaus, the disciples were dejected because they thought God had failed. But Jesus showed them that his death was always a part of the plan. We also need to learn that suffering and hardship are part of God's plan to save us, and that when things are hard, we can find hope and joy when we remember how God worked salvation through Jesus' suffering.
