Face shining is His majesty, His brilliance ,His holiness, and awesomeness.
worthy to be praised and worshiped
John saw Jesus as majestic, all powerful God.
John saw Jesus as almighty God which overwhelmed him
The shining Sun in the Old Testament often spoke of God
The sun has the power to burn or to bless
the sun shines on His people
the sun burns to the soul of the sinner and exposes his sin then burns him in hell for eternity
and there is no place to hide
Paul charges Timothy
I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who testified the good confession before Pontius Pilate,
that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal might! Amen.

Jesus was before creation when the book of life was written
before the first man was created by his hands
before the angels were created
Jesus is absolute God
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
“Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, Yahweh of hosts: ‘I am the first, and I am the last, And there is no God besides Me.
everything under Heaven is in His sovereign control
with this phrase Jesus is telling John and us that Jesus is absolutely Almighty God
Cults like the Jehovah witnesses claim that Jesus is not God
but here in the first chapter of Revelation we find that this is talking about God and the next phrase tells us that He died

And
I was dead and now alive forever
I became human so that I can be a kinsman redeemer to the human race
so that I can redeem from the penalty of sin
by dying on the cross as a substitute for all who will put their trust in Him
The same all human Jesus that died and rose again is putting His hand on John’s back and telling him I am also all Almighty God
because Jesus died and now lives forever He has the power to give eternal life to whoever God wills

And
He has the keys of death and Hades
both death and Hades are the enemy of the living
He also punishes forever who God wills
Jesus conquered death with His resurrection and he now controls death and Hell
remember this is the apocalypse of Jesus the Son of God
who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal might! Amen.
Jesus promised eternal life to all who believe
this is not something in the future but instantly
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,

the church was a mystery that the Old testament people did not know of
at the beginning of the chapter the meaning of 7 stars was a mystery

he main symbolism of the number seven in the book of Revelation. The seven churches are representative of all churches. The seven Spirits represent the perfect omniscience of the Holy Spirit. The seven seals, trumpets, and bowls denote the completeness of God’s worldwide judgment

here the angel is a part of the church because to the angel it says “I know your deeds”
the messengers are a representative of everyone in the congregation
so we have a messenger from Jesus to the church the lampstand
this lampstand is a light to the world
Jesus is walking amoung these lamp stands

He knows what is going on so we can take comfort in that Jesus is always with His people
to Paul when Jesus came to Him on the road to Damascus when he was going to persecute the church
