A Prayer of Moses, the man of God. 1 Lord, you have been our dwelling place in all generations. 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. 3 You return man to dust and say, “Return, O children of man!” 4 For a thousand years in your sight are but as yesterday when it is past, or as a watch in the night. 5 You sweep them away as with a flood; they are like a dream, like grass that is renewed in the morning: 6 in the morning it flourishes and is renewed; in the evening it fades and withers. 7 For we are brought to an end by your anger; by your wrath we are dismayed. 8 You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence. 9 For all our days pass away under your wrath; we bring our years to an end like a sigh. 10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away. 11 Who considers the power of your anger, and your wrath according to the fear of you? 12 So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

“The speed of God” —Part 2.
[Pray]
Last weeks message was all about TIME.
Time being the great paradigm in which we all live. we all have a set amount of time. a time to do what the writer of our passage
Time: is of the essense
Time is the great resource
Time is the great level in the lfe of humanity. We cant manufacture more of it. only God knows exactly the amount of time that we HAVE.
Were called to recognize something vital - God is over time, Jesus came at the right time, and the Spirit of God wants to ensure we glorify God with our time.
Jesus spoke consistently and clearly about time also:
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
10 When the time came, he sent a servant to the tenants, so that they would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
8 You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.”
7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority.
And the timing of Jesus was perfect:
6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law,
10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in Christ, things in heaven and things on earth in him.
Gods timing is perfect, ours is personal
God knows what He is doing, and he MOVES AT THE SPEED OF HIS PURPOSE.
You cannot hurry God.
He is unrriable in nature, why? because He is GOD
…..
1.We have a timeframe, God has a timeline.
1.We have a timeframe, God has a timeline.
(We have so much focus on something so small).
We focus so much on our frame of reference that we forget God is working on an eternal timeline past present and eternal.
How often am i reminding myself of this vital truth?
How often am i reminding myself of this vital truth?
Im not going to be here forever. But i will be with God forever
Im not going to be here forever. But i will be with God forever
What can i do now - that I can’t do in eternity?
What can i do now - that I can’t do in eternity?

Give. Love. Serve. Forgive. Share the gospel. Welcome someone in…
There aren’t any more offerings in Heaven. There arent any more GOOD DEEDS in heaven…. Some of you think the offering moment is hard - here is a thought that caught me in a moment - what happens when i get to heaven and realize that I could’ve given more on earth? I have a window. I have an important timeframe
So how do i handle my FRAME? I have to rememver - some things are temporal…. but what God is doing - is ETERNALWhatever is done for Christ is what will last.
17 For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, 18 as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
17 For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
The AGE WE LIVE IN IS HAS NEVER BEEN MORE SELF FOCUSED THEN IT IS RIGHT NOW. And its only going to get worse out there. The world is not reversing course guys - Thats why the gospel is so good and so great for the listening ears TODAY.
**the devil wants you focused on YOU. on yourself, On this window. He wants you to zoom into your own life and nothing else. He doesnt want you to see the eternal side of what God is doing. He wants you to stay small. To Stay in. to not venture out into the wide open spaces of God
What part of your life does God want to bring an eternal perspective to? What thing can you step back from and trust him with? Maybe it’s your family, maybe it’s your generational legacy. Maybe its overcoming a sin or an addiction - you know that God is doing something greater than just you.
(Men - what you dont deal with now, will be passed along to your kids….. God wants to use the frame of time he has with you now - to help you overcome, to change things. To bring an eternal perspective to your current reality.
2.God can shift in a moment what has taken man generations.
2.God can shift in a moment what has taken man generations.
See if time is something that God doesnt operate in - Then our expectation of him doing things in our time is unreasonable!
God can move a mountain in a moment. Healing, Restoration, Redemption…
But he also will take generations if need be….
He has timeline. And He MOVES AT THE SPEED OF HIS PURPOSE:
And He accompishes his purpose in the light of his eternal plan for humanity.
Jesus and the disciples give us this contrast.
Jesus the Eternal, the Disciples the temporal.
1 Now when Jesus learned that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus was making and baptizing more disciples than John 2 (although Jesus himself did not baptize, but only his disciples), 3 he left Judea and departed again for Galilee. 4 And he had to pass through Samaria. 5 So he came to a town of Samaria called Sychar, near the field that Jacob had given to his son Joseph. 6 Jacob’s well was there; so Jesus, wearied as he was from his journey, was sitting beside the well. It was about the sixth hour. 7 A woman from Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give me a drink.” 8 (For his disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.) 9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “How is it that you, a Jew, ask for a drink from me, a woman of Samaria?” (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, ‘Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.” 11 The woman said to him, “Sir, you have nothing to draw water with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob? He gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock.” 13 Jesus said to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” 15 The woman said to him, “Sir, give me this water, so that I will not be thirsty or have to come here to draw water.” 16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.” 17 The woman answered him, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her, “You are right in saying, ‘I have no husband’; 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one you now have is not your husband. What you have said is true.” 19 The woman said to him, “Sir, I perceive that you are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, but you say that in Jerusalem is the place where people ought to worship.” 21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. 22 You worship what you do not know; we worship what we know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.” 25 The woman said to him, “I know that Messiah is coming (he who is called Christ). When he comes, he will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am he.” 27 Just then his disciples came back. They marveled that he was talking with a woman, but no one said, “What do you seek?” or, “Why are you talking with her?” 28 So the woman left her water jar and went away into town and said to the people, 29 “Come, see a man who told me all that I ever did. Can this be the Christ?” 30 They went out of the town and were coming to him. 31 Meanwhile the disciples were urging him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” 32 But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” 33 So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” 34 Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work. 35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest. 36 Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together. 37 For here the saying holds true, ‘One sows and another reaps.’ 38 I sent you to reap that for which you did not labor. Others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.” 39 Many Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me all that I ever did.” 40 So when the Samaritans came to him, they asked him to stay with them, and he stayed there two days. 41 And many more believed because of his word. 42 They said to the woman, “It is no longer because of what you said that we believe, for we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this is indeed the Savior of the world.” 43 After the two days he departed for Galilee.
JESUS DOING IN A MOMENT WHAT MAN WAS TRYING TO DO FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS….
What is the eternal thing God is wanting to do today?
***The disciples were trying to get Jesus to focus on lunch, where Jesus was trying to focus on restoring a whole people group to himself and bringing the gospel, the good news to samaria.
The dicsplies were focused on todays lunch, Jesus was dialed int to the tomorrow’s eternal reality.
Reconciliation. Redemption.
