Effects of knowing God
When you’re in a public place have you ever observed others around you? Do they look unhappy?
Have you ever just shared the love of Christ with them?
I did that very thing the other day, and found out through the ensuing conversation with that person that they where were depressed and had experienced some life altering news, this person had no one that they felt they could talk to.
My inquiry into their religious belief found that they did not have a relationship with God as an adult.
I reminded this person that we are all God’s children and it pains him when we don’t come to him in prayer, asking for guidance.
A simple act that we can all do is say “Hello, how are you doing today” and show love and compassion to others – it could open doors for that individual as well as yourself.
Take a few minutes and share God’s love with others.
Good
Knowing God has a transforming effect on a person spiritually and morally and makes that person bold in actions for God.
Not knowing God in the present will result in dissatisfaction and degeneration into wickedness and in the future, will bring eternal alienation from him.
Moral transformation: from evil to good
(NIV)
“And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God.”
(NIV)
“Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods.
But now that you know God—or rather are known by God—how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces?
Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again?”
(NIV)
“My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ.”
(NIV)
“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
I have brought you glory on earth by finishing the work you gave me to do.
And now, Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began.”
Glory to God, now go and share his word.
Amen
